So I'm about 6 months pregnant, and this is my first, and I have NO idea what to expect as far as baby movement and how it feels. There's times I think maybe I feel it, then second guess it, thinking it's gas or something. I can BARELY feel it, like if I think I feel something, I have to hold really still, then I might feel a little flutter. For the first time the other night, I felt what I guess was kicking. I was laying in bed propped up on the pillow (which is usually the position I'm in when I feel anything), and I saw my T-shirt jump a little, lifted the shirt up, and on my left side, I saw my stomach twitching! Is this pretty normal? I guess I expect to REALLY know when it's moving, and to me, it's not all that obvious?

I am 6 months pregnant and have felt movement from about 19 weeks to now. At this point I wouldn't think it could be mistaken for gas, as it is obvious that something is moving and making your insides twitch. I can put the remote on my stomach and watch it bobble when he is kicking really hard. My husband can also feel and watch the movement...it is neat. You are feeling it, I'm sure!!

Good Luck! #1 on the way!

It sounds normal to me. Im 22 weeks and have been feeling movements since i was 15 weeks & 3 days. I never ever feel him move, only about 4 times since it all started. However he kicks absolutely loads!! Its normal for you not to feel it a lot because ur babys so small u only feel her/him when he hits. Same with me..
I have the same too, i always watch my belly and it goes flying as he kicks. Last night my boyfriend felt him move around..fully turn.. and he kicked me so hard it was unbelieveable, i guess he knew daddy was there :)
Everything you've stated is perfectly normal :D
Your probably not settled with the fact that he or she has moved because your convinced he hasnt. Try drinking a cold drink or eat an lay down..this will get it moving!
Good luck xxx

The times you think you feel something, and then think it's gas, it's probably your baby moving. I'm 23 wks along with my 3rd and even with this one there have been times where I've gone "was it or wasn't it?". It's sooo common to feel that way. You will really know when it's moving soon....once the baby is almost full term you will feel and see every movement. I've noticed in this pregnancy that baby is really active in the morning before I even get out of bed and at night after I've been lying down for awhile. All of our movement lulls the baby to sleep, so once we stop moving it's party time for them!
Good luck!

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had the same problem. Everyone I knew kept asking me "So have you felt it move yet?" It would get on my nerves because I really wasn't sure if I felt the movement from my baby or if I had some weird gas/flutters/anxious feeling. At one of the ultrasounds I finally was able to feel the gasy/fluttered/anxious feeling and see her move at the same time, so I was able to tell thats what it was. Good luck and congrats

That little flutter is probably the baby. Being your first, it's not uncommon to second guess the movements your feeling. Your baby is going to be getting stronger now and you will definitely be able to tell when he or she is kicking you.

the first few kicks are just exactly like your muscles are chucking spasms or like you say "twitching"
I never felt it when i was standing up or moving i always had to be laying on my back, quite as a mouse and holding my breath lol and even than it was sooo tiny it took my hubby 2 weeks to feel wat i was feeling. it was soo frustrating as i was excited and but unsure at the same time and just wanted someone else to see what i was on about lol

conrats and YES your baby is kicking, you arent going mad... Its really him/her

Yes, you will see all sorts of weird movements in your stomach but you just have to give it time. Another month or so and these movements will keep you up at night.
