i've done a lot of research (contrary to what said people believe) and the more research i've done, the more i'm for having a natural childbirth (barring serious complications, of course)

people jump all over pregnant women for not doing everything in the best interest of their unborn child, yet they don't see that that is what myself & others like me are trying to do by having a natural childbirth.

for example, you wouldn't condone cocaine or heroine use by a pregnant woman, right? so why should narcotic derivatives of those drugs be suitable for childbirth?? (Novocaine, nubain, demerol, stadol, etc. are all in the same drug class as cocaine & heroine).

also, epidurals & spinal blocks, which are quite useful in some instances, have many potential side effects including fetal distress, maternal paralysis, worsening of asthma, spinal headaches, back problems, increased risk of c-section, slowing labor, etc. So why should it be pushed on everyone?? Why should a woman wanting to AVOID those risks be laughed at?

I was offered a blood test for my next appointment that checks for down syndrome and other nueral tube defects. I am not at a high risk age and neither me or the father have autism, mental retardation or anything like that in our family and I have been taking my prenatal vits. My family is encouraging me to do this test, but I dont know if it is right, my risk is low for these things I need some opinions please

My boyfriend and I have been thinking about having a baby lately. He is unsure because he doesnt think he will be a good father. His father abandoned him and his mom when he was younger and his mom told him it was his fault. So he lived at home and took care of his mom and sister until he was 23. We've been dating for a long time and want to start a family. How can I convince him that he will be a great father? He is so afraid he will turn out like his dad.

(please dont answer if youre going to say we should be married before we have a kid.)

lastnight i couldnt sleep well i woke up in the middle of the night because i was feeling nauseas and i kept peeing also i was weak and really tired.Also i was getting hot flashes and i felt uncomfortable i felt sick i dont no if im pregnant is it possible i was ovulating right after i finished my period i had my period October 1st. my fiance thinks i might be pregnant because im moody and sleepy all the time. can someone help me if they can i would love some oppinions and im still feeling nauseas. I'm almost 7.5 months pregnant and everyone thinks that I'm small...they tell me I need to eat more, or no way is that baby going to be big...I look huge to myself, I look like a basketball is in my stomach. No where near some women though. My friend at 7 months, looks like I will probably full term and maybe smaller and her baby was only 6lbs...I just want to see others advice on this...it kind of is irritating how people think every pregnant women should be a heavy weight...it's irritating huh??

april 07.i had given birth to a babyboy.
mm..last month on 15sept 07 i came the first of last menstruation. cos of fasting month
we never had a sex within one month.

I'm 36 weeks preggo, 3cm dilated, and 100% effaced. My doctor says I'll more than likely deliver within the next 2 weeks. She took me off my medicine to stop my contractions and said I can start walking and doing all that stuff to induce labor. My question is, even if my baby is measuring big, isn't 36 weeks still a little too soon to actually *try* and self induce?

Okay ladies, so PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me! I am having alot of pain today! I was in hospital tuesday for contrax and they were 2-4 mins apart and i was only dialated 1cm. WELL: Today there are some massive storms rolling through! I am HOPING that the drop in pressure will do something. Please, please PLEASE! LOL..

it seems like my period is here but i feel nauseous and my breasts are still tender and my cramps are wierd. I was questioning implantation bleeding because last night I had cramps that were stronger then period cramps (its hard to explain what they felt like but very different). I had bled a little last night then nothing until the morning then it's been kinda off and on...its very different then my normal periods. i'm not sure what to do now. plus my period was 1 day late....its never like that.

I am having a weird feeling that my baby is going to be born in December and my due date is not till Feburary 7th 2008, I keep having this reacurring dream that my child is born early but healthy, in the dream i dont have any contractions and its like she just pushes her self out, do you think this is weird? Well if you could give me some insights on what you think of this i could help me alot thank you. By the way im 24 weeks today.

I dont have periods and I am pregnant, so how would they calculate my due date? Would they still include the extra 2-3 weeks as they would for a person who HAS periods? or not?
