Pregnancy - September 2007

I have been monitoring my blood sugars b/c I have gestational diabetes and have been able to keep them in the OK range with the proper diet. My doctors originally told me they would not let me go past 39 weeks as it can be dangerous for GD moms and babies. Now last week, they said they would let me go until a week past my due date before induction (41 weeks). My due date is tomorrow and I am tempted to lie and say my blood sugar levels have been higher. I was also thinking of drinking orange juice before the appointment so I will have sugar in my urine. Is this a stupid idea? I am just nervous about going so much longer than all of the other GD moms I know. Also, the baby was estimated to weigh 8 lbs. at my 38 weeks ultrasound, so I am getting nervous about her getting too big. I have expressed my concerns multiple times to my doctor, but they won't bend.

I declined the test for downs syndrome as i didnt want to go through my pregnancy worrying if it came back i was a high risk and even if my baby does have downs i wouldnt have it aborted.
But ever since becoming pregnant ive had a feeling that there is going to be something wrong with the baby,now ive had this dream and my worrying has started all over again.

Has anyone else experienced simlar dreams if so was your born with any disabilities?

P.s i wouldnt love my child any less even if he does have a disabilitie

She's only 16 (no idea how she gets them because you have to be 19 to buy them here and no one else in my family smokes. She just found out she's 1 month pregnant and she doesn't even want to quit!! I'm in college studying to be a pediatrician but I dorm and only come home on weekends. She said she started smoking when she was 13 because her boyfriend smoked and always gave them to her. Now she's pregnant and she's a chain smoker, I mean 2-3 packs a day. I've told her thousands of times what happens. I have some books about what happens to the baby when you smoke and I showed her but she didn't even care!! I love babies and I want to make her stop!! My parents are trying everything to make her stop too but it isn't working so well. What do I do?

Hi, I am 20 years old, almost 6 months pregnant, first baby, but I am scared of giving birth. Something that causes my fears is my weight and size, I am 5 feet 1 inch and and my weight has always been 85 lbs. When people see me they say I'm too small, and could face possible complications. My fear is, what if complications get so bad that I end up dying while giving birth or afterwards...

I have been having these cravings for spicy cheetos for the past few months. can they be harmful becuase I've been eating them like crazy! And then for some reason i'll end up wanting fruits after I've had enough.

Does anyone know how to make them less noticable or how they will go away. I know it is possible for them to go away because my mom has had two kids and she said her stretch marks went away because she didn't scratch..but anyways I'm wondering since my stomach is still going back to normal (I had 1 kid 2 weeks ago) and wondering maybe if I excercise and use cocoa butter would it make them less noticable..also that line that goes below the belly button will that go away too?

WHen the baby moves it makes my belly shape change quite dramatically. Sometimes it goes into 2 lumps. Sometimes there is one big lump on one side. SOmetimes it goes square (and the bottom looks like the bottom of a strawberry(. Sometimes the baby chooses to lie on one side and leaves the other side completely flat.

I am obsessed with my tummy i keep pressing my tummy to make the baby move, then squirming at the sight of it lol

Am i the only one. DO i need help??

ps i am 33, i probably should know better lol

Tomorrow is my gender determination ultrasound, and my husband has made it clear that he doesn't want me calling him while he's in the middle of work to tell him from the doctor's office - he thinks it will be more special if I wait until he gets home and tell him in person after being held in suspense all day. I'm looking for some creative ways to break the news to him. I was going to stop by his job and load the inside of his truck down with "it's a ..." balloons & wrap it with whichever color bow I end up needing, buuuut he wants to find out at home... So I need some ideas! I would like to do something fun & creative that he'll always remember. This time is different, he was present for our last two children's gender determination ultrasounds, but this time he just can't get off of work because of previous circumstances. (3 months of missed work from a car accident!) So I want to make it special. Any help?

Well hello there i was just wondering what all of you thought of this. Well i am 30 weeks pregnant and my baby shower is in oct and my mom and my brother had asked me what i wanted for my baby..... so i told my mom i wanted her to buy me the stroller travel set and my brother the swing from the fisher prise rainforest collection. I thought everything was set until they went to go look at the rainforest themed i had oicked and they called me right away and told me that the things i wanted where so ugly, and they didn't go for the winter. I know it made me feel sad. they want me to get something with lighter colors and i told them the reason why i didn't it's because light colors get more dirtier! so what do you all think should i go with what i want or should i change my mind and listen to them? or are they being unfair? below is the bouncer and swing i want for the baby!

my gynaec prescribed me iron, vitamins and zince tabs once a day. calcium 500 mg twice a day. while these are normal, i am also prescribed some amino acid tabs ( says amino acids with minerals) twice a day along with Vitamin E and C ( tocopherol) once a day! Phew...if this was not enough I am on medication for blood pressure i.e. Alpha dopa once a day!! I am in my 26th week of pregnancy. Will complete 6 months tomorrow ( wow) but these days all I do is get up and eat my vitamins!! Is anyone going through the same??? Please share your experiences.

Iam currently 6 weeks pregnant and my boyfriend of 3mnths have discussed it with both our families. Everyone (including him) are happy and all say that we should keep it and that they will support my decision - regardless if its to abort or to keep it - Iam worried that:
a) we both not ready for a child (I am 24 - 25 in the next 5 months- and he is 32)
b) Iam just getting out from Major debt and only getting on our feet with that
c) its only been a 3 month relationship and isnt it too early for something like this to happen?
Iam really confused on what to do? I really cant come to terms with the abortion, but i feel that the financial and then my thoughts on not being ready on a mature level could pose a problem?
what should i do????
