Ok......

There's a difference to fish and shell fish.

Shell fish, we are warned not to touch, it contains too much mercury which can cause birth defects.

You can still eat some shell fish like prawns and other sea fish like octupus and squid.

All fish contains omega 3 which is good for the baby's developing brain.

Stay away from shark and only eat no more than 4 small sized cans of tuna a week.

Goodluck x

I just ate a bunch of shrimp and crab this weekend. It is okay to eat seafood. WHat you have to watch for are varieties that have a high amount of mercury in them. I think like swordfish etc. Some also say to limit tuna to one can a week but I think tuna is relatively safe. If you really are worried ask your doctor. I live in the seafood capital of the south and my doctor has never cautioned me against eating ANY kind of seafood.

you CAN eat fish. Fish is actually very good for you during pregnancy. You just shouldn't eat a LOT of it, especially fish/shellfish that are high in mercury. Look up mercury in fish while pregnant on google and you will get web sites you can look at with the levels of mercury in certain fish.

good luck, and just try not to think about it too much.

It is ok to eat fish and shrimp in moderation while pregnant, provided they are not the type that tend to have high levels of mercury.

Shrimp are scavangers and basically filthy creatures. Whatever is in fish that you shouldn't be eating, mercury, copper etc. would also be in shrimp

sure...just dont eat too many too often and be sure they are fresh...

i know that many articles and people will say that you cant, due to the levels of mercury in seafood, but a little occasionally will not do any harm...
