Each state usually has their own laws reguarding this. Some states require that one parent signs, while other states require that both sign, and some states have no requirements for parental signatures.

Which state are you in? I would do a search online about policies for your particular state.

Many states have laws that allow the pregnant woman to have the abortion with out a signature of parent or the father of the child if she is over 13. To be sure, call your local chapter of Planned Parenthood. They will have the information about your state.

In 1990, the Court ruled in Ohio v. Akron Center for Reproductive Health that a state law requiring notice to one parent with a judicial bypass option is constitutional.

Hope that helped!

I don't believe any parent has to consent to their child's choice to an abortion. Only the person getting the abortion has to consent to it (regardless of age). I'm not 100% on this, but that's what I've known from my own experience.

Depends on the state you in live in. I live in Arizona and I had to have my ex-boyfriend sign a waiver for the clinic at the office. I am not sure, but I think it's because he paid with his credit card and he had to be informed of his rights. Not really sure, sorry!

it might depend on each state's law..
but if one parent wanted to give it up for adoption and the other one didn't, then that one would fight for custody of the child.
In the case of a single mom, where no dad is around or vise versa, only one parent is fine.
