An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that is located outside of the uterus. There is no way for them to relocate the baby from it's misplaced location into the uterus. Unfortunately if the pregnancy is ectopic there is no way for the baby to survive for it has to be in the uterus to implant properly and grow.

the eggs is in the uterus the egg will not be able to develop. As the fetus grows, it will eventually burst the organ that contains it. This can cause severe bleeding and endanger the mother's life. A classical ectopic pregnancy never develops into a live birth. It is best to go to the doctor and get the ultra sound at list you or your friend will know and don't have to worry about it. this are somethings that you can look for.Ectopic pregnancy can be difficult to diagnose because symptoms often mirror those of a normal early pregnancy. These can include missed periods, breast tenderness, nausea, vomiting, or frequent urination.
Pain is usually the first red flag. You might feel pain in your pelvis, abdomen, or, in extreme cases, even your shoulder or neck (if blood from a ruptured ectopic pregnancy builds up and irritates certain nerves). Most women describe the pain as sharp and stabbing. It may concentrate on one side of the pelvis, and it may come and go or vary in intensity.
Any of the following additional symptoms can suggest an ectopic pregnancy:
vaginal spotting or bleeding
dizziness or fainting (caused by blood loss)
low blood pressure (also caused by blood loss)
lower back pain
as you can see there is to much things to look for go to your doctor is the best thing to do

Good answer from balmorland, but also make sure you see the doctor right away. They might be able to save the tube. If the tube bursts then you loose not only the baby but that tube. So you have half as much chance of having a baby. Also once you have one tubal pregnancy you are more prone to have another. So if you get it early maybe you will be able to save both tubes. What I mean if you wait and then loose the first tube you can't get it back, so then you must do everything possible to save the other. At least you will have a chance, if the second is worst and is no chance of saving it at least you might still have the first.

I have never heard of a woman having a baby with an ectopic pregnancy. The baby has already implanted itself into the fallopian tube and the fallopian tube cannot develop a placenta and umbilical cord for the baby and cannot produce the hormones needed to keep the baby. Therefore the baby and pregnancy will not survive. I hope this helps!! I hope you don't think I'm trying to be rude in any way because I'm not. Have a great day!

It is very rare but an ectopic pregnancy can be carried to full term. Sometimes the ovum implants outside the falopian tube in the abdominal cavity. There was a segment on Discovery Health on this subject.

Symptoms of Ectopic pregnancy include but are not limited to
Lower abdominal or pelvic pain
Mild cramping on one side of the pelvis
Amenorrhea (missed period)
Abnormal vaginal bleeding (usually spotting)
Breast tenderness
Nausea
Low back pain
And to the best of my knowledge and research, you cannot carry a ectopic pregnancy to a viable term.
