Pregnancy - March 2007

I took 2 different pregnancy test one on sunday and the second on monday and both came out positive so I am sure I am pregnant, but I have been really sick and tired for the last week and when I got the positive results I started taking prenatal vitamins and I was just wonder if it will help with not having such a upset stomach. I have been drinking tons of water to try to help my upset stomach but then I have to run to the bathroom every 30 minutes. I am extremely exhausted but can't sleep cause I have been having such an upset stomach. I have my first doctors visit next tuesday. Any advice or help and what worked for you when you had all these problems with the first trimester.

It seems that in nearly every other country, mothers are given an abundance of matrnity leave. In the united states, the average is abotu 6 weeks. In other countries, you can take maternity leave for a few months to a couple of years. I found out that in Switzerland, you get about 2 years for maternity leave with pay!!! Does the US really just not care abotu mothers?

There is a chance I could be pregnant, how long should I wait from the time the conception could have happened to take a hpt? it happened on feb 24th and i'm due to get my next period in about 1 1/2 weeks. What do you think?

i am about 6 weeks pregnant and i started to spot a few days ago it was brownish and only noticable when i wiped myself,it then stopped and the following day it turned red again when i wiped so i went straight to maternity where they did a internal scan and i saw the baby but because i was 6 weeks they could not detect a heartbeat,they told me to go home and if the blood started to get heavier and passing clots then to come back up. obviously i am very scared the bleeding has got a wee bit worse but not that bad that it is soaking my sanitary pad altho it is staining it,the best way to describe to you is it would be like my normal period, i had severe cramping yesterday although it has calmed down today i go back up to hospital next week to see if the baby has grew and obviously to check it is still there. i am very scared and worried and i have passed a couple of small clots i phoned the midwife and she said not to worry as long as they r not large, please someone help xx

Since most doctors go by 28 days to figure out when you are due such as your LMP, how will you ever know how exactly far along you are? Or will you ever?
According to my ultrasound my LMP was 7/19/06. My ultrasound matched my LMP for the 20 week ultrasound. Well I have NEVER had a 28 day period. So they gave me a due date of 4/25/07. That's fine with me, but if I ovulated later could the baby not be as far along?
I know you really aren't pregnant until roughly about 2 weeks after your period, so if you baby comes at 38 weeks does that mean something more than 40 weeks?
Sorry for all the questions, I've just been wondering.

How many of you were yelling at your husbands? Have any of you just wanted your mother, and your husband to just leave you alone while in labor? i just wanted to know because my feelings right now are that i want him by my side the whole time ( will my feelings change during labor?? and that i won't get mad but i haven't been through labor yet so i don't know. just wondering how other labor s have gone. and if you do get mad at your husband why is it?? I am 24 yrs old am legally married but seperated we tried 2 yrs to get pregnant because hubby wanted a child of his own(because I have a son from a prior relationship) but nothing?He blamed me it caused our seperation. I started a fling during the seperation i had been taking the pill by then for 3 months but got pregnant anyway? Has anyone had this happen?

I took tylenol 3 before and they don't want me to take that anymore because it has codeine. Now they put me on midrin, which I told them I have a bad reaction to and of course, it made me vomit all night. This morning I called the dr. and they said to go get checked out in the labor and delivery/OB ward of the hospital? What can they do for me besides give me some other narcotic like they did the last time (demerol)??? I feel like I am just getting jerked around here. Help!

I am 19 years old. 51/2 pregnant. i am not with the baby's father. sometimes he comes around but that is usually only a cover up to get sex. we used to be madly in love. not no more he treats me like crap. and disrespects me. i am still in love him. is there any way i can make it work. or should i give up. it's just i think about him all the time. even though he treats me like crap. i cry all the time. and can barely sleep or eat. i been going threw this for 4monts now. what should i do? somebody please help me.

I just received a phone call from a friend congratulating me on my pregnancy. The only people we have told so far are my parents, my in-laws and my brother. I asked them all to keep it quiet for a week or two to let the danger period pass (in terms of miscarriages, etc), but also so that we could tell all our immediate family before our friends. My mother has been broadcasting the news far and wide, and now some people (that we wanted to tell face to face) know before our other siblings. I feel like they have stolen something that is so special for my hubby and I (being able to tell people the big news ourselves). This is our first child. Am I justified in being p'd off about my mother telling everyone or is it just pregnancy and it's wonderful emotional roller coaster?

Im goin' to be 11wks preg. this comming weekend, and i keep getting these sharp pain kinda like were your period cramps are! Is this normal or should i call the dr.

I hear that every pregnancy is different. With my first son I was violently ill from about 5-16 weeks. I am crossing my fingers that when I conceive again I will not have the same experience. Just curious about your experiences and how unique each pregnancy is. Thanks for sharing!

I know every one says that sex, walking, spicy food, cleaning are great ways to help labor along, but what can i do to get the baby down lower. this is my second, and i am already at 4 cm (was at 3 for the past 2 weeks) but the baby isn't engaged, i am having a terrible time because i suffer from sciatica(and have had to get injections) my back is so bad that i can't move my legs sometimes- and my dr said that I just need to have the baby now to figure out what is wrong with it but he doesn't want to yet for 2 reasons 1) my last labor and delivery was really short he thinks it will take longer being induced and 2.) he wants to wait at least a week (i am only 36 weeks-had my first at 37). is there anything to do to help the baby drop on his own

I'm almost in week 11 of my pregnancy. I'm really happy and excited of course, but just wondering when the fatigue will pass. I feel so sleepy, especially in the afternoons and napping isn't an option. I'm doing everything else right, and I get a good amount of sleep at night. Thanks x

I am 39 weeks pregnant and I was fine until now... but now I feel so anxious... like it's impossible for something so big to come out of something so little. I feel like my bones are going to break in half down there.
