Im almost 2 months pregnant and I did have a one day period last month but the term they use is implantion bleeding. My question is, "Is it normal to have a period again on month 3." If i wasnt pregnant im suppose to start on the 30th. What do i do if i get it again?

Some women experience light spotting. This is not something to worry about during the first trimester. However, it is impossible to have your period while pregnant (this involves the uterine lining breaking away from the uterus- the baby needs this to grow)- what you think is your period is just light spotting that many women experience (your cervix is full of capillaries and is very sensitive and easily bruised).

You probably won't. Some women, rarely, *do* have periods throughout their pregnancies, but most do not.

The implantation bleeding you mentioned is VERY common. This is usually before the cervix seals off your uterus--when the zygote attaches itself to the lining of the uterus, it causes some bleeding. Nothing to worry about--honestly just seems to indicate that your baby is 'firmly attached' :P.

As for what to do if you have bleeding again--let your doctor know. If you are rh negative, you may need a rhogam shot. If not, your doctor will probably want to do a check up to make sure you and baby are both doing well.

However, it is very common to have occassional spotting throughout pregnancy, particularly after sex or around the time of your regular period. Just 'spotting', though--if you need something thicker than a panty liner, there may be a problem. Also, if the 'spotting' is frequent or lasts a while, that could also indicate a problem.

In any case, it's always a good idea when pregnant to let your doctor know about any bleeding or unusual discharge. Good luck!

I'm 11 weeks. I had implantation bleeding also. Then spotted at 5 weeks. Then again at 9 weeks. I went to the Dr. both times and they checked my hormone levels and did an Ultrasound. I was told all was well and some women just have spotting in the first trimester, not to worry. They explained that spotting was most common around the time when a period would be due. Any bleeding should be reported to your health care provider. Best wishes!
