I took tylenol 3 before and they don't want me to take that anymore because it has codeine. Now they put me on midrin, which I told them I have a bad reaction to and of course, it made me vomit all night. This morning I called the dr. and they said to go get checked out in the labor and delivery/OB ward of the hospital? What can they do for me besides give me some other narcotic like they did the last time (demerol)??? I feel like I am just getting jerked around here. Help!

I am curious about other's opinions and if you have gone through anything like this. I feel so helpless.

I am assuming you are pregnant since this is in the pregnancy category? I am 27 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and I have migraines as well. My doctor actually took me off of Midrin during my pregnancy and instead gave me a running prescription for Tylenol with codeine, as it is one of the most prescribed painkillers in pregnancy. Many women feel it isn;t worth the risk to take it while pregnant, but in my case (and only talking about MY CASE here) the migraines I have are absolutely in every way debilitating, so much so that the risk of miscarriage from stress and illness is greatly increased if I don;t take something to manage the pain. That being said, all doctors have different ideas of what is safe and what is not safe during pregnancy, I trust my doctor and trust that he would not give me something harmful to my baby, so far no problems and the migraines have been held at bay. If you trust your doctor to do what is safest for you and your child then you need to consult with him again so that the two of you can work together on your specific case and find something that works to help with your pain. Good Luck.

I fully expect to get at least a few thumbs downs as I am taking something that most women disagree with, but most of those women do not have medical degrees and none of them know my situation beyond what i have shared here, so vote away ladies!

Yes Mexican. The first time I ever had it I was really sick for 24 hrs. I'm not actually sure if that was what had caused it as my Husband and Daughter ate in the same place but even now after 20 yrs.I can't face it and the smell of it makes me feel nauseas !
