i am about 6 weeks pregnant and i started to spot a few days ago it was brownish and only noticable when i wiped myself,it then stopped and the following day it turned red again when i wiped so i went straight to maternity where they did a internal scan and i saw the baby but because i was 6 weeks they could not detect a heartbeat, they told me to go home and if the blood started to get heavier and passing clots then to come back up. obviously i am very scared the bleeding has got a wee bit worse but not that bad that it is soaking my sanitary pad altho it is staining it,the best way to describe to you is it would be like my normal period, i had severe cramping yesterday although it has calmed down today i go back up to hospital next week to see if the baby has grew and obviously to check it is still there. i am very scared and worried and i have passed a couple of small clots i phoned the midwife and she said not to worry as long as they r not large, please someone help xx

Hi, I wish i knew I started bleeding when i turned 6 weeks pregnant( on a saturday).... it started off small as well I went to the doctor the next day, the baby was fine and it still had a heartbeat.... but it blood got heavier I went back to the ER on wed. They told me i was in the process of a misscarriage??? PROCESS? i was wonder what? after that day my bleeding slowed down, and it seems like a light period.. it has been a WEEK since i seen a doctor? i am not even sure when to go back? they say your baby is supposed to come out a day or two after you bleed i didnt see mine? i have an appointment in a few days... I just hope the doctor was wrong...You never know you might be just one of those women who have periods when they are pregnant? Take care

Oh honey, I'm going through exactly the same thing. I had light bleeding during my first pregnancy, but everything was fine. I have a beautiful 10 month old son.
This pregnancy was a complete shock (although I know where babies come from :) and at first, it was hard adjusting. I started spotting right away, and I thought it was normal. It consistently got heavier, and I had an ultrasound at 6 1/2 weeks. The baby had a heartbeat, so I was reassured. Two days later, I passed a large mass of tissue. I freaked out, let me tell you. I've been going to the hospital and getting hCG levels done through blood tests. I'm surprised your doctor is not recommending this. You can ask for one.
It sounds to me like you could have miscarried, but then again, maybe not! Sometimes 6 weeks is to early to detect a heart beat. I know the waiting is the hardest! My hCG test immediately after passing the tissue was higher than 3 days previously, but not where it was supposed to be, so we're still not sure. I have to wait until tomorrow and have another test. I'll know Friday, but it's so hard waiting a week, isn't it? My heart goes out to you. I am still having morning sickness, and am just not sure.
Other symtoms of miscarriage are heavy vaginal bleeding, passing blood clots and tissue, as well as cramping in your lower back. It's so hard to say without another ultrasound or hCG test though. Good luck to you.

all i can say is to wait and see ...it sucks but that is all you can do. when i was about 12 weeks the same thing happened to me, I was bleeding and gushing fluid. i went in to emergency and the doctors had no idea ...even after examination and ultrasound why i was bleeding. (fortunately there was a heartbeat) anyway, the bleeding lasted for a week afterwards and was just as a normal period. i wet on to give premature birth to a baby girl. it was the scariest thing ever and i really thought i was losing the baby. all i can say is be strong and wait it out, this early is too soon to tell so just be patient.
I'm so sorry ...best of luck.

i would say go to someone else for a second look. you might not be miscarryin at all because sometime a lil bleeding is normal to be on the safe side its always best to ask other professional to take a look. i had a similar situation and i was told i was fine. it turned out that at the moment i was fine but i did eventually miscarry. so do some research by yourself and ask around.

I believe you should go to another hospital and get a second opinion as soon as possible and try to calm down a bit. This is stressing you and is not good for you or the baby.
Hope the best.
God bless you and your baby

I know it is hard to stay calm but try not to get to stressed it is not good for you right now. I bled with cramps around six weeks also and it just turned out to be a urinary tract infection. It was not your normal urinary tract infection so they didn't detect it with the test when I first went in. I don't think anybody is going to be able to tell you for sure what is going on, its one of those things where your just going to have to wait and see. Just try to relax and stay calm for your baby.

I can't give a real answer, only my best wishes. If the midwife says that everything is fine, the only thing you can do is trust her for now. The best thing you can do for the baby and yourself is to rest and take your mind off the worry.
Good luck, and my thoughts are with you.

Try and relax, some people bleed throughout their entire pregnancy, and some people miscarry. No matter what happens it will be ok. Dont worry yourself sick over it. I would love to tell you you not going to miscarry, but think of it this way... if you do, you can try again!

go get a 2nd opinion. some women have lite bleeding and it can be ok, there is no guarantees but they should have been able to find a heartbeat in the baby, so go to someone else and ask for 2nd opinion.........good luck
