I started a fling during the seperation i had been taking the pill by then for 3 months but got pregnant anyway? Has anyone had this happen?

Yasmin is considered a low dose contraceptive... I just saw something on TV about it. If you do not take it at exactly the same time every day, or if you miss one, then you have a much higher failure rate than if you were taking a full dose pill. Also, if you are overweight, it has a higher failure rate also. The doctor on the news show said that the low dose pills are "unforgiving" in that if you make one tiny mistake, you can become pregnant.

Could be that the initial problem was with your hubby, not you, in trying to get pregnant. Maybe your fling does not have the same problems that hubby did... in other words your fling is more fertile.

Good luck and God bless!

I'm 11 weeks and took the depo shot on Nov 17th! Nobody can tell me why it did'nt work! Previously I was married and my husband tried to get me pregnant for 3 years!!! I even took fertility drugs! My current boyfriend and I did not start having unprotected sex until a week after I took the shot! It was only a month and 1/2 till I got pregnant! Niether the pill or the shot are 100% effective. However, in our case apparently it was not effective at all! Best wishes!!

No pills are 100% effective, even if taken properly. Read the warnings given to you by your pharmacist and doctor. Most BC pills are 99-point-something percent effective when taken properly (according to directions). Also, some pills just don't work for some women. Also read or ask your doc about other things that can make the pill less effective (i.e. certain antibiotics or other medications if you were taking any).

Well, first off he needs to get over the little man complex and accept that it is probably due to him, and if that is the way he feels about it you don't need him around any way. As far as your question about the pill, if you were sick and on any type of antibiotic this could explain it. Antibiotics counter react the affects of the pill. Anyhow, congradulations and enjoy.
