I am going for my 20 week U/S to an offsite facility. My dr wont be there but an US tech will be doing my U/S. Are the techs trained in different fields? I have only been for US for problems before pregnancy (cysts) and the resuts have to be sent back to my dr. Will the tech be able to identify problems and tell me with certainty how my baby is doing?

Any guesses? Experience? I have an incompetent cervix and have gone from 1 cm to 2 in a week, and no clue what to expect next. I will be 35 weeks on Saturday and my ob says my baby will be in good shape if she comes early. I am still on bedrest and trying to make it as far as I can - I am in no hurry!

I am 22 weeks and we just had lunch catered in and I ate a portabello mushroom sandhwich with what I hope was cream cheese on it, but it may have been another soft cheese. I read soft cheeses are dangerous in pregnancy. Should I be worried if this was not actually cream cheese?? Thanks...I know I worry too much

My sister has tried to have a child and has had many miscarriages. The doctor told her that her womb was weak and it isn't strong enough to hold the baby in there for a whole pregnancy term. I am considering being a surrogate mother for her, but I am not sure what all it takes to do so and what the requirements are before I tell her, so I can make sure that I can do it. This is serious and I don't need any stupid jokes. Serious answers only please. Thank you!

How are pregnancy months calculated? For example, are you considered 2 months when you complete the 4th week and are "in" your 2nd month, or is it only after the 8th week is completed?

About two weeks ago, at the end of my cycle, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend (Yes, I know that was stupid. No lectures, please!). I have been on a tricyclin birth control pill for about 7 years and was off the pill when this happened. I was supposed to go back on it the next day, but, to my forgetfulness, I was out. Three days later, I got my annual exam done and got a new brand of pills - a monocyclin. I started that pill four days later. My concern is, obviously, the likelihood that I could be pregnant. During the past week, I have been nauseous, my lower back hurts, I'm exhausted and I've had a few headaches here and there. The nausea is accompanied with dizziness, come out of nowhere, and have happened twice this week, both early in the morning. I know the pill can cause some strange reactions, but this pill is much less potent (half the size of my old one, for one thing) than the pill I was on before. My moods are crazy, I feel like I'm PMS-ing. So, any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm 6 months pregnant and still having severe morning sickness and have some concerns. Is it normal for milk to spoil in your stomach and come up as chunks in less than an hour? And (sorry, this is gross) how long does it take for the nutrients in food to be absorbed? If the vomit is mostly liquid, does this mean that the nutrients have already been taken out by my body? I'm worried that my baby is not getting what she needs due to my morning sickness/all day long sickness.

Everyone wanted me to be having another boy. Well it is another girl. Everyone seems disappointed. It seems as if nobody cares about this pregnancy or this baby since she is a girl. I have 2 other girls. I feel like it would be better if I didn't have her. I am not going to do anything stupid and hurt her or me. Is it wrong for me to feel like I failed somehow?? Please no rude answers. This is already something I feel guilty about. Thanks

Sometimes I get BH contractions if I go from sitting down to standing up, standing up to sitting down, changing positions in bed like flipping from side to side, moving around if I'm sitting in a chair. Is this normal? This is my third pregnancy and I'm 33 weeks and have been having BH's since around 20 weeks. I can't say I remember this happening with my other 2.

I've been tracking my temperature this month and it went up right when I thought I would ovulate. It's been 12 days now of elevated temperature. I've read different things....if your temperature stays elevated probably pregnant AND that your temperature stays elevated until your period regardless. Can someone help?

I just found out that I am having a baby!! Now the task at hand is announcing my pregnancy to family members, and I'm freaking out. I'm so afraid of what my family is going to say/do/or advise. I'm 20 years old, finished with school, and yet I feel like I might as well be 14 years old. I'm wondering who I should tell first, how to tell them, and what exactly I should say. My mom is always talking about grandkids, and telling me that if I were ever pregnant she hopes I would come to her for help and support.... but I'm still afraid. I know because of previous family members having kids, they will assume I'm only out to take advantage of them financially. How do I go about doing this without my judgemental family assuming this is the worst possible thing that could ever happen to them.... when really its a blessing?? Please no rude comments, I've had enough of them already.
