How are pregnancy months calculated? For example, are you considered 2 months when you complete the 4th week and are "in" your 2nd month, or is it only after the 8th week is completed?

It is really confusing - but everyone is right, the month isn't counted until it is complete. 40 weeks gestation, when divided by 4 weeks is 10 months. But everyone knows a pregnancy lasts 9 months right? It's just 9 complete months. I'm due May 12th which makes me 24 weeks and 5 days today. That puts me into my 6th month, but in pregnancy time I'm 5 months. Hopefully this clears up a really confusing thing.

The first 4 weeks are considered just that "weeks" A "normal" pregnancy is 40 weeks which is 10 months but you are not a "month" pregnant until you are into your 2nd month. It can be confusing I know. Basically they dont count the first 4 weeks as a month instead it is just that "weeks" hope I didnt confuse you

When you are 4 weeks you are just that four weeks. If you are 6 weeks you are either 6 weeks or a month and a half. You are not 2 months until you hit 8 weeks.

It is when the last week of the month has been completed.
It is more confusing that way, which is why doctors go by weeks. 4 weeks would be 1 month.

you are two months pregnant when your 8th week is over. After the 4th week is over you've only been pregnant for a month so your only 1 month pregnant.

well usually when you fist find out your pregnant they say that you are 4 weeks, because they go by the date of your last period when in technical terms you are really only two weeks. since ovation occurs around 14 days from the start of your period, and as for how many months you are I would say that it goes by every 4 weeks so 4 weeks you are 1mth. 8 weeks you are 2 mths and so on

It's a total of 40 weeks gestation... which is about 9 calendar months.

If you are in your 4th week, you are in your 2nd month....
If you are in your 23rd week, you are in your 5th month...
If you are in your 39th week, you are in your 9th month.
