Is it because of doctors orders or the why their bodies just adjust to being pregnant?

If a 100lb woman gains 25 lbs, and a 180lb woman gains 25lbs, it would appear that the smaller one gained more due to the percentage of the increase. In reality though, the same amount of weight should be gained regardless of the woman's size.
It is just an appearance thing.

There are a few factors:

1. It is nature's way to ready the body to support another life inside. If the body is thin, then it needs more to support that life.

2. Typically, the thin people don't have to work at it hard to stay that way. They normally just have a faster metabolism (the . . .), and enjoy the life of eating what they like and how much they like and don't gain much. When they get pregnant, their bodies demand more food, and they give in because they have never had to be careful before. It results in more weight gain than in someone that was heavier to begin with. But in some cases (like my younger sister), it all goes away in a very short time, and they are back to their skinny selves.

The average a woman is suppose to gain is 27lbs. Anything excessively over this is bad. For the baby, and for the mother. Any good doctor will give you a lecture if your gaining too much.

Women that gain alot during pregnancy are mostly using it as a excuse to eat more. Alot more. My SIL almost made chickens extinct with her hot wings consumption during her pregnancy. She gain 70 with her first kid.

I didn't gain alot. Only 25 pounds and my daughter weighed 8-1/2 pounds. Maybe it just looks like it because they were small to begin with.
