I am 22 weeks and we just had lunch catered in and I ate a portabello mushroom sandhwich with what I hope was cream cheese on it, but it may have been another soft cheese. I read soft cheeses are dangerous in pregnancy. Should I be worried if this was not actually cream cheese?? Thanks...I know I worry too much

Don't worry if you eat it once it shouldn't do any harm. I know that soft cheeses and aged cheese you should avoid. I like you worry too much but I try to relax and take it one day at a time. Good luck!

Cream cheese is fine as long as it is PASTEURIZED. What you should avoid are soft cheeses that haven't been pasteurized. They harbor bacteria that might be harmful to you and your baby. But having a bit of anything considered "unsafe" won't harm your child. I had sushi when I was a month along and my doctor told me not to worry.

I wouldn't worry about it. The quantity that you would have to eat to hurt the baby would be much greater than one sandwich.
