Yes, with my daughter, (second and last pregnancy).

I ate quite healthy with my son, and took my prenatal vitamins. My daughter, for some reason, not so good and couldn't keep the vitamins down. The thing I had in common with both, was I had severe morning sickness. Though for my son, it peaked at night, my daughter, ALL DAY!

While being pregnant with my daughter, I found myself eating foods with extreme taste sensations. The food had to be salty or sweet. Sometimes even just extremely bland. After eating whatever I ate, it would come right back up, and then have a craving for the opposite of what I just ate.

A moment that stands out during my pregnancy, was when I sent my husband to get food to satisfy my different cravings. He came back with the foods, and told me and asked if I realized that he noticed as the foods went down the conveyor belt to the cashier, that I had asked for ice cream and pickles...!

I didn't realize what I had requested. But to make it clear, I didn't eat them together. Depending on time of day, sometimes I wanted something sweet, and then later craved the salty.

But to answer your question, yes I craved ice cream. Reason? Well, our body are really quite ingenious, maybe there is something lacking in your body, that ice cream could provide. Maybe fill a taste sensation, need more fat, or you needed extra calcium. My OB told me there are some women who craved rocks!?

I had the strongest cravings for mint chocolate chip milkshakes my first pregnancy - big time. Like, I would get them at least a few times a week, and I usually don't eat ice cream too often. My opinion on cravings is that it is your body's way of saying you're not getting enough of a particular mineral. Maybe you're not taking in enough dairy products. Either way, give in to your cravings once in a while, in moderation.

Yes. your body is craving the extra calcium and nutrients. I craved icecream almost everyday.. better stock up on the fat free kind of ice cream! :D I also craved lots of broccoli. Ask your doctor about taking vitamins too for pregnancy.

the thing I craved most in this pregnancy is penut butter sandwhiches just plain peanut butterspread on a couple of slices of bread. Although I do crave ice cream sometimes, I drink enough milk that I get the calcium I need though.

Yeah, but I don't know if there's any specific reason. I ate a lot of fudgecicles, and towards summer I craved soft chocolate ice cream. My bf finally took me to get some one day. That's all I could think about!

Normally when your body is craving something it is because you are lacking a vitamin or mineral from you diet. SO if you crave it, EAT it. This is the way I look at things, especially while pregnant.

Maybe for the dairy? Or you just have a sweet tooth!

I craved ice cream too, as well as 7 layer burritos from Taco Bell.

Yes! Ice cream all the time. And cranberry juice. I don't know, but there must be a reason. We probably needed the extra calcium or something. Or it's what the baby likes. My son LOOOOOOOVES ice cream still!!!

I had to have my daily scoop! I am lactose intolerant and one of the benefits of pregnancy is that the lactose intolerance eases up for those 9 months. It was simply blissful to enjoy ice cream without the hassle of pills and upset stomachs.
