She says that I should skip pre-natal classes because they are a waste of time. Since I got pregnant she has been so critical of when I started wearing maternity clothes, she thought I started too early (but they are so comfy) She thought I was showing too early etc... It seems she always has something negeative to say. What is the deal? Do you think she's jealous or what? Has anyone else had a friend or family member act this way? We are really pretty close and don't want to confront her and have our relationship suffer, but jeez!!!

No, I didn't get pregnant yet, and I don't think I will.
The main reason that scares the hell out of me is labor pain.
Please, DO NOT preach with cheesy things like "being able to be strong and withstand the pain", "bundle of joy coming to the world", "pain is natural", "it's god's punishment" etc. Such answers are not welcome!!!
Better tell me please if there is a way to get a good anaesthetic like general narcosis. They say epidurals do not always work. I won't get pregnant until there is a guarantee I'll be drugged like the Snow White and won't feel anything.
It's also known your moms experience counts. My mom (though a professional sportswoman and a person made of steel, ice and fire) nearly died and it was HORRIBLE. Me and my mom were on the way to morgue, and the doctors were sssooooo surprised to see us alive.
I don't want to go through this horror and I don't understand women who agree to experience this pain.
Please again no preaching!

I had two cycles this month and both were normal, the second one wasn't lighter. But I have been feeling overly tired lately and my right side and lower abdomen have been mildly cramping. I was pregnant in Dec and miscarried the same month. Could I be pregnant again so soon? My cycle was weird this month so I am not sure when I ovulated. I have taken a pregnancy test but it came out negative. I think it was to soon to tell. Please help with any advice. Thank you.

I had an intestinal infection over the weekend and when they were checking my blood pressure and heartbeat they said my heart was unually high (120 beats with no activity). They gave me 3 bags of fluids. At the end of this whole thing my heart rate was still 115. My blood pressure was low but that is not unusual for me. Has anyone experienced high heart rate with pregnancy? Does increased heart rate imply multiple births?

I am just concerned about my pregnancy. I am 7 weeks along and whenever I mention it they do not seem concerned. They just wamted to replace my electolytes and thats about it. They didnt check heartbeat or anything. I have my first OBGYN appt on Wednesday so I hope they will check then

i have a history of preterm labor/delivery. my last pregnancy i was prescribed progesterone injections to calm my uterus down. i didn't deliver till 36 weeks. (previous deleveries were at 21 weeks and 32 weeks) with this pregnancy they automaticaly started me on the injections again...i had thinning and dilating problems still last time. but this pregnancy nothing as of yet and i'm 25 weeks. has anyone else used these injections and have them work?? do they REALLY make a difference or could it be because i'm less stressed?? my previous 3 were higher stress times...i'm not working this one. hmmm...

I will be 34 weeks and my baby's heartbeat has been really good since I was 18 weeks. My doctor hasn't done an ultrasound since then (when I found out.. it was a boy!)I'm curious because people keep telling me a strong heartbeat is a girl and that carrying high is a girl.. I'm carrying high as well but, from the ultrasound.. You can tell he's a boy. I'm going to ask my doctor at my next appointment to make sure it's a boy. Is that wrong to ask? I've bought everything for a little boy! I just needed some advice or something! Thanks..

It's funny because a lot of the women on the 'Pregnancy' topics babble on and on about how much they love babies. There are millions of unwanted children in the world, so isn't it selfish to plop out another kid instead of adopting?

My period is always the same lasts for around 7-10 days and is quite heavy. I was due on a few weeks ago. I was 8days late, i ook a preg test on the 6th day and it came negative, on the 8th day i then started bleeding like a normal period (quite heavy) for 3days, and all of a sudden i stopped. My period went from heavy to having stopped in a matter of 30mins.
Nothing happened for a about 12 hours then i started spotting lightly for 3days.
Has anyone else had this happen to them? And what was the cause.
I'm confused and appreciate any answers.
