Just like every birth/child is diffrent, so is every post-pregnancy body, but 3-6 week is about normal. Oh, and be careful after the baby is born, women are more fertile two years after having a baby.

It is not your period that you have after giving birth. It is your body healing from the place where the placenta was attached. The bleeding lasts 1-8 weeks. You can only use pads while this is happening. The duration of the bleeding will be shorter if you breastfeed as this helps the uterus contract. Breastfeeding can also keep your actual period away. I didn't have a period for a whole year while breastfeeding - awesome!

after birth you will bleed for 2-6 weeks then after that if you breastfeed full time you are less likely to have a period but if you dont breastfeed you should begin having periods 6-8 weeks after childbirth so after that use some kinda protection even when breastfeeding you should use a form of protection because you can get pregnant when breastfeeding so you can either use condoms, depo, or the mini pill but i hoped i helped

After giving birth EXPECT to bleed for about 6 weeks. Although you may not bleed for that long. I only bled for 1 week (kid #1) and 2weeks (kid#2).
But it isnt your period it is your body expelling all the crap it accumulated during the pregnancy.
You can expect to get your period back as soon as this has finished or you may not get it for months or years. Breastfeeding can postpone getting your period for a while.
I breastfeed my kids and didnt get my period back till they were 18 months old. And I loved it.

Mine was somewhere between 3 & 8 weeks.........I pretty much bleed non-stop for the first 2 months or so after my daughter was born, so I'm not too sure when I actually had that first period. But remember everyone is different.

it varies I've had 4 pregnancies with periods starting from 2 to 6 months after the birth. If you are nursing I understand it takes longer for them to come back.
Also the bummer is you can bleed for several weeks after the birth. One of mine was messy and I had spotty bleeding for 4 weeks.

It isn't really a "period" you discharge blood from the birth for up to 6wks after birth than you go into your period, unless you breastfeed than your period may not return as fast (but you can still get pregnant) I bled for 3wks after my daughter was born.

That really depends on what kind of birth you have. If it is a vaginal birth, usually around 3-4 weeks, if you have a C-section about 2-3 weeks.

There is no norm for this one. Sometimes it's 4-6 weeks after the birth, sometimes several months later especially if breast feeding baby.
