You count the weeks from the first day of your last period: in 40 weeks will be your due date. June 19, 2007 is your due date so on the 19th of every month you will begin a new month. Remember there are more than 4 weeks in every month except February, and you would only be 37 weeks pregnant at the end of May.

my last lmp was september 14 and my due date is june 21st. your doctor bases your due date on your lmp and a 28 day cycle but not every woman has a 28 day cycle. if you are certain that you have a 28 day cycle then you would have gotten pregnant around the 26th and yes your baby would be due the 18 of june. due dates are just rough estimates though, so don't sweat it too much. at your 20 week ultrasound, they will measure the baby and can usually give a more accurate date according to baby size.

It is calculated on a gestation of 40 weeks. That's how the doctor came to June 18th. It's not a "true" nine months, but since babies actually come when they are ready to, the date you're given is a best guesstimate.
The way I was told was to count forward 10 months and then back two weeks. That will give you the "due date" of your baby.
CONGRATULATIONS!! from a Grama who's blessed so far with 5 grandchildren!

So 09-12-06 was your last period. Subtract 3 months,June 12, and add a week, June 19, 2007 is your answer.

Is 9-12-06 the last day or the 1st day? if the 12th is the 1st, then u are going by the wrong day and u need to be going by the last day. If the 12th is the last day of your period the ur baby will be here btw. may/june

40 weeks from 1st day of last period. That is what the doctors use for calculating due date. Trust me, that is just a ballpark number. God and the baby will determine when the child is born.
Congratulations!

pregnancy lasts 40 weeks from the first date of your menstrual period.
that means you are due June 19, 2007.
To understand where they come up with this figure, take out out a calendar and count 40 weeks from Sept. 12. Its that simple.

Basically when they figure due dates, they take the last date of your cycle and add 2 weeks to it - that give you a rough idea of when the baby was conceived.
A normal pregnancy last 40 weeks, so add 40 weeks to the 2 weeks and you should have your date.
