I had three c-sections and with each of them I bled for 4-7 weeks afterward. The more you do and more active you are causes you to bleed more and longer. Hope this helpls!

The bleeding following the delivery by C-section is the same for vaginal. Every woman's body is different. It usually lasts anywhere from 4-6 weeks, and is actually NOT your menstrual period, but is called Lochia.

Lochia is a period-like discharge from the vagina that occurs after delivery. The discharge will probably be exceptionally heavy at first and may last five to six weeks. Have extra-large size maxi-pads on hand to help deal with the flow (never use tampons for postpartum bleeding).

I had a C-section myself and I bled for 6 weeks. So, again it all depends on the person. I hope that helped! :o)

I bled for around six weeks. It's odd that there are a few replies on here that say you bleed less. My doctor told me that since I had a c-section I would bleed more because not as much was pushed out of me as it would have been with a normal delivery.

Anywhere from 4-8 weeks, sometimes longer. After a C-section, they tell you that you won't bleed as much as you would if you had a vaginal birth.

A week and a half for me. The doc said it was because they "cleaned me out well." I don't know how accurate that is but I've also read that C-sections bleed less. Of course, each person/experience is different. Best of luck!

I bled for about 7 weeks after mine. I think anywhere from 6 - 8 weeks is average.

for up to 8 weeks however if you are having a lot of bleeding with clots you should see you DR as you may have some retained placenta. I had to have an ultrasound to see if all was fine
Good Luck
