I had an appointment at 8 weeks but the doctor didn't want to do my care so I never even saw him and now I booked with a gynocologist and I will be 14 weeks before I get all my first tests done. Is that okay? What are your experiences?

My boss has one child who is 9 months. Ever since she had her daughter, she has been missing AT LEAST one day a week from work. It is always last minute notice too. She says she has to stay home and watch her daughter since her mother (who is the child's caretaker) goes out of town, gets sick, needs a day off, etc.

However, when I asked her to take a half day because I has something important to do, she told me "she would have to think about it" even though I gave 2 weeks notice. I have vacation time and I need the 1/2 day to go to the doctor because I am pregnant, but I didn't want to announce it yet.

If anyone in our office has to take care of their children, my boss says they need to find a reliable daycare or they may lose their job!

Her supervisor (the CEO) is not here enough to understand the situation. Plus my supervisor is on salary, so she has not kept track of her time off and not docked pay!

Why is she the exception? If I pulled this I would be fired!

I have the Graco Safeseat. It was one of the twelve seats tested by CR that did poorly. I find this terrifying for two reasons: 1) Just last night I had a dream that I had a car wreck and then couldn't find my child (a dream like this has not ever happened to me before); and 2) My son loves this seat and so do I.

Does anyone else have the Graco Safeseat? What do you think of it?

Has anyone actually read the CR Article? If so, can you shed any light on this for me?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

My mother-in-law was planning on having a baby shower for my wife, but due to circumstances such as selling and buying a new house money is a little tight for my in-laws. While my wife says she's not upset, this is our first child and I'm sure she is a little disappointed. How and where can I throw her a good shower for around 30 women in Rhode Island in Febuary/March? Need ideas for location and food and whatnot. I could probably swing $500 maybe a little more if necessary.

Thanks.

I am a stay at home mom and for extra money I have decided to babysit for my best friend. She has 4 children and 1 on the way. I have 1 child. One of hers is in school so I would only have him one day a week but the ages of the others are 4(soon to be 5), 2, and 9 months, and my baby is 4months. Am I crazy? Just looking for opinions.

I would like to name my new baby daughter 'British Airways Business Class Lavatory', as this is where she was concieved. That would be her first name, and I would of course insist it be used in full at all times.
Thoughts?

We're not sure the gender of our baby yet, but if it's a boy, we're hedging towards NOT getting him circumscised. I asked the doc how common it was these days to not do it, and she said that at least 60% of her patients chose not to. I knew this was a growing trend, but her high figure still surprised me. Then again, she's a midwife doctor, so I'm sure most of her patients preferr to keep things natural. My question is...for people who have had sons, how many of you chose to circumscise?

Hey- I had sex on the Dec 9..and 22nd..? Yes, with the same person..lol. I got my period on the due date(Dec. 27th)..but it only lasted for 2-3 days? It was a very light period, and my normal flow lasts for at least a week. I've had a lot of mood swings lately, and I've been feeling pressure on lower abdomen. ..It's barely even still my stomach, it's right below and right above the vagina..?
I took a pregnancy test and it tested NEGATIVE...Could I still be pregnant? I mean..if I'm pregnant from the time of Dec. 22nd, then implantation bleeding woulda began around the Dec. 27-28th, right? So wouldn't it have been too early to do a pregnancy test?

My son keeps bugging me about wanting to shave his "mustache"..he is 12yrs old....but he says some of the kids at school make jokes about it. My husband, my father and my father-in-law all said they were about 14 when they started...What do you think?...I know this maybe a crazy question so I apologize ahead of time but he does have noticeable hair above his lip....Thanks ahead of time for you help and input.

I am divorced with two children, ages 15 and 7. I am 35 and thought I was finished having babies. I met the love of my life (he's only 28) and he has no kids, but wants to get married (planning to this year or next) and start a family with me. I am so afraid to have another baby so late in life, especially since the chances of defects and multiple births increase with age. He is the only male in his family and his father just passed away. He wants to carry on the name. I love him with all my heart, but I am so afraid. Can anyone offer advice?
