I was 3 months old when my mother pierced my ears, and I've had them ever since. I always thought if I had a daughter, I'd do the same.....well, here we are, and I'm waffeling on the idea. Friends say I could do it as soon as 6 weeks.

What are your experiences with having your infants ear pierced?
Where did you go to have it done?
What was their reaction?

I'm nervous about just going to the mall, should I decide to go.

I'm hesitant, because I don't want to hurt her. I'd like to do it when she's asleep, but that's a terrible way to wake up.

My mother told me that the only time I made a peep was when they marked my ear with a felt tipped marker.....

Any help would be appreciated!

My baby had a red bump on her hip as I changed her this morning. I put some A+D ointment on it as I thought it may be irritation from diaper. Now, a couple hours later, it is a clear liquid blister with little ones around it. What is that? Could it be simply contact dermatitis from the diaper or something worse? Help!

I am taking my five year old and her cousin swimming in a indoor heated pool.

Oh we live in michigan so it is sort of cold, like 40's.

But the pool is heated and indoors at a local health club.

I am worried it will be too cold for her and the chlorine might be too much..

Would you take her or no?

My 4month old has slept six hours through the night since we brought her home from the hospital but all of a sudden the past two weeks she has been waking up. I feed her cereal and a 4 oz bottle at 9pm then she goes to bed at 10 she has been waking up every 2 hrs wanting more food (about 2 oz). I don't think it is a growth spurt because of how big she is already(18lbs 9oz and 26in, which the doctor says is perfectly fine). I just want so opinions as to why she is doing this. Thank you!

I have 3 children all in car seats in the back seat. Its very squashy and my 7 month old is still facing backward, making it quite tricky to put him in and do him up. I want to turn his seat forward, but he can't sit up by himself yet, but has head control. Is it too early to turn the seat around? When did other readers do the change???

some unique names please,

Me and my girlfriend have decided on naming are child Jaden and his middle name Anthony. we are young, both in are early 20s and love this name but both are parents dont like the name, (mainly hers) they say it sounds to girlish and it also sounds more of an african american childs name (we are both white). Now we disagree on both those ideas and really like this name but we just want opinions on the matter from people outside of the family. We chose the name because it sounds pretty cool for a boy and isnt a common name like James, David,Matthew,Ryan,etc... and that is what we wanted, something not so common. We really think they dont like it because it isnt a common name and they are older (in there 60s) so there idea of a good name is something like James, or Ryan, a name that is more heard of. And i have done a little resarch on the name and Jaden is used way more as a boys name then a girls so i really dont know. so if you have an opinion on this please let me know.

Our 5 month old son has been really good over the past 5 months but as of late he cries throughout the night. He usually wakes up 2 hours after he is put to sleep by kicking, arching his back and flailling his arms & then the high pitched screaming begins. Once he is picked up he squirms a bit & usually falls back asleep. This continues throughout the night every 2 hours. This has been going on for the past 5 nights.

He seems to be teething & we give him some homeopathic remedies, which during the days seem to calm him down quite well but nothing works at night. Prior to these episodes he would usually sleep a solid 5 to 6 hours & then wake up for a feeding every 3 hours each night. He hasn´t really cried much prior to the recent episodes.

He also seems to have lots of gas which we treat with simethicone (in appropriate doses) & this does not seem to help either at night.

We are at a loss since we don't know what to do & no one is getting any sleep.

Hi,

Could everyone help me. I have my 1-1/2 month son on Isomil Soy Formula. We assumed he would be like his older brother and not handle regular formula.

We would like to try a Milk Based Formula to see if he can handle it. What is the best Milk Based Formula economically and for my child.
