My 4month old has slept six hours through the night since we brought her home from the hospital but all of a sudden the past two weeks she has been waking up. I feed her cereal and a 4 oz bottle at 9pm then she goes to bed at 10 she has been waking up every 2 hrs wanting more food (about 2 oz). I don't think it is a growth spurt because of how big she is already(18lbs 9oz and 26in, which the doctor says is perfectly fine). I just want so opinions as to why she is doing this. Thank you!

Nothing has changed in our routine and I am a stay at home mom. I am just wondering why she is awaking so many times its usually about 3 to 4 times a night.

It may still be a growth spurt, babies don't necessarily follow a set schedule with that. She's probably just hungry. I had 2 big babies and they were always hungry. You don't say if she is weaned yet, maybe if you just nurse her a little she'll go back to sleep, though I know you're probably tired. Try giving her cereal during the day also, or maybe she's ready for veg. and fruit baby food. Check with your doctor first though.

Another possibility is, could she be starting to teethe by now? My oldest started at about 4 mos. Sometimes it bothers them more at night and they just need comforting. Best wishes to you.

Since you are already giving her cereal. I would start giving her some baby food too. My lil neice at 4 mons was always hungary, so first they started her out on cereal. Then they seen that it wasn't doing much for her because she was still hungary so they then started her out on baby food. So they now give her both milk/cereal and baby food. She's 6 mons old and growing like a weed. Another thing could be is that she could be teething too. My neice also started teething at a early age. Good luck with everything.

don't give her cereal every night in her bottle. She might be to full and it is keeping her up. My 2 month old started sleeping for 7-8 hours at night and this isn't every night so I'm just grateful for the days she does sleep all night.

I always think its funny when people ask me if my baby is sleeping through the night. She might have one night but that is no guaranty she will do it the next! There is a fallacy that once you can get them to sleep through the night, you will be rewarded with restful nights forever.

What has recently changed in her routine? Did you recently go back to work? She might be waking up to get more time with you.
