A few more weeks and see the difference. 'Your babies' will truly arrive and start being individuals.
Its a bit of a sensory overload going from nothing to the whole world and its dog. Im suprised any of us manage to smile befor 60.
Hold baby, make eye contact (if you can) and talk gently and softy. You say 'babies' so I guess you have twins. Lol, good luck. The smiles will start soon enough and you find something else to worry about.
My babies are 22, 20 and 18....and I still worry.

Don't worry about it. My child smiled once when he was two months old and then didn't smile again till he was 5months. Now he smiles all the time and at everyone that looks at him. He also didn't start laughing till six months and now he laughs all the time.

2 months is a little early to tell a real emotion. If their not crying and can sit alone and content, i would say they are very happy baby's. I'd say a baby's real emotion of happy or sad comes out around 6-8 months, when they truly recognize mom and dad and have preferences on food and toys.

Totally normal. Smiling at that point is by accident. Just wait unti you get a real smile, you'll see the difference. It may even be accompanied by a very cute giggle

Babies at that age really don't have the concept down for smiling. They smile more because of reflex for pooping and gas. Be patient it will happen soo and they will stat to smile all the time. Congratulations.

Nope they are no unhappy they just dont associate smiling with happiness yet. Wait until they are 4 months by then they will be actually laughing at you and that will continue until they are grown. LOL. Dont worry they will get it.

I think at that stage, babies are more interested in examining and learning the faces of their family. So as long as you're taking care of their basic needs (feeding, cleaning, and getting those dirty dipes off) they're happy campers.
Congrats on the twins!

Your babies are very young and most do not smile at that age.
My son doesn't smile often unless I am pretending to eat his hand or blowing raspberries on his belly. He's 9.5mo

first of all congratulation, they still too young to respond at anything you do.it is very important that you keep talking to and play with them just don't over excite them.I am a mother of twins and I would stay hours just talking and sometimes just look at them, seems that you can't get enough of the cutes right?
