While I was pregnant, I got horrible pinkish purple stretch marks vertically ALL over my stomach. I had the baby 7 weeks ago, and they are still there along with my sagging belly fat. Has this happened to anyone who has been pregnant? What should I do?

My son is 5 1/2 months old. We've been giving him a little rice mixed with formula, but truth-be-told I haven't been too dilligent about it. It makes him constipated, so I'm not loving this, but he should probably be off formula before he becomes a teenager (lol), so... Is oatmeal less binding? When do I start other baby food, and in what order/how much/for how long. i.e. vegetables for a couple weeks then fruit? I appreciate the advice.

not to wash the baby's hair for several months because the water and soap could "get through that soft area in the top of the head and cause brain damage." Explain to her why this is not true.

My husband ALWAYS puts our 2 1/2 month daughter in her swing and now she will scream until you put her in there. Is there anything a wrong with that? I hate it because I feel like a failure as a mother. She coos and gurgles why she is in there. If you try playing with her she doesnt even acknowledge the fact that you are there.

My baby has about 4-5 ounces of formula every 3-5 hours. I feed him about 4 spoonfuls of stage 1 Gerber about 3 times a day. Is that enough?? He seems to be happy. Are babies at this stage supposed to eat 1 full container of stage 1 Gerber?? He weighs 19 pounds right now.

I have a nine month old daughter. Since about 1 week ago she had maybe 20 oz of formula a day, and ate cereal twice a day (about 2 tsp at a time) Suddenly she is drinking 30-40 oz per day, as well she has 3 meals. Cereal in the morning (3 tsp) Veggies or strained meat at lunch (4 tsp) followed by apple and raspbeery sauce (2 tsp) then just before bed she has another 2 tsp of cereal, with yogurt. I'm scared she'll become overweight. I understand it may be a growth spurt, and needed energy, as she has been crawling and standing more. Did this happen to your baby at this age? How long did it last? It seems she's hungry all the time.

note: I always check for everything else first (diaper, nap, play time, alone time, teething)

A girl I work with just told me that her cousin just gave birth. At the hospital they brought the baby into her room and her boyfriend fed him. Then afterwards her boyfriend handed over the baby and the mom was like "this is not our baby". All is well and no one else had her baby but why did this happen in the first place. Where I gave birth we had our wrist bands checked everytime our son came to our room or left. I was shocked that this happened.

Baby has taken bottle and breast like a champ from day one, I have expressed enough breastmilk for entire time I am to be gone, and I"m leaving her with very loving and adept grandparents, but I am worried about leaving her for 5 days and the possibility of accidentally weaning her early. She will be 13 weeks old when I leave. Any advice?

that you have to wait a few days to introduce a different fruit or food to your baby. I tried the bannanas yesterday, (which she loved) and is totally fine. Is it okay to try a different one now. Wouldnt I already know If she was going to have an allergic reaction?

My son nurses. My mother-in-law lives 2 hrs away. She claims I am "keeping" him away from her and using nursing as an excuse. However, my son doesn't stay overnight with my mother either. He wakes to nurse sometimes 4 times a night. If either party babysits for part of the evening, I am in pain from engorgement. How can I make her understand it is not personal? Leaving him for days at a time (1 night isn't good enough, she insists on a week) is not good for my milk production and my son wouldn't understand. Studies also show forced weaning is not good for the baby. What is a good way to deal with this?

My wife's family is giving her a hard time about her decision to breastfeed our baby. They have gone as far as telling her that she isn't welcome in their homes if she is going to breastfeed there. When we told her neice (30-something year old with three kids) that it's natural, she said "We'll how about I just go take a dump in your yard...that's natural too."
The best rebuttal I've come up with so far is: "If breastfeeding in public makes people uneasy because the breasts are considered sexual, then bottle-feeding must be the equivalent of whipping out a dildo."
Do you have anything else that we might be able to use to get her family to understand it's not wrong to breastfeed?
