they will fade and get lighter, but they are there forever.

Stretch marks and the "saggy" belly is something that every woman has experienced postnatal. The abdomen is stretched for 10 months so it may not tighten overnight. I have a lot of excess skin because of the way I carried my kids. Do abdomenal exercises when you're cleared from your dr. Plus my skin isn't that elastic so I have stretch marks around my waist (back included); around my belly button and my breasts. They're purple is because they're new marks. The only way to get rid of them is time or plastic surgery. No cream, pill, massage works!!! Mine faded (they're 6 yrs old) and I didn't get any new ones when I had my 3 y/o.

OMG they sound like mine!!! Mine are soo thick they look engraved into my tummy!! To be completely honest with you NO they will never go away, only slightly fade. My daughter is 5 months old and they are just starting to lighten up but I have the sagging belly as well that looks like a pouch..I tried to use firming cream, the stretch mark cream I used while pregnant that obviously didn't work, vitamin E cream, I honestly am trying everything and yet have NOT found anything that is helping. I am just going to wait it out as I am still trying to find a way to get rid of my sagging stomach and if it doesn't go away I am getting a tummy tuck..I am not saying it is the right thing to do but I am really self conscious now and the marks dont help...If yours are anything like mine I dont know what to tell you but to wait and hope they ease up and magically disappear..I would gladly show you a picture!! Sorry hun looks like me and you are just gonna have to play the waiting game like we did with our babies...:)

You can't really do anything about the stretch marks. They'll fade in time, but will still be there. As for the fat, you'll have to work at it. And some women never lose it. JUst remember, it took you 9 months to gain the weight, give yourself at least that long to get back into shape.

Use a vitamin E oil on the stretch marks to promote healing. Then wait about 10 or 15 years, and they'll fade to a barely-noticeable silver-white. Sorry, but stretch marks are part of pregnancy. Don't view them as something bad, rather as your battle scars that you earned while carrying your beloved child.

I have the same problem but i started using Palmer's Cocoa butter and also Avon Cosmetics has a lotion also for stretch marks. i started using them both a few months ago and i find that the stretch marks are fading but to tell the truth, they will never completely disappear. they just fade.
Also, it takes time, it doesn't work overnight so don't give up too quickly.

like everyone else is saying, no they may never totally disappear, but the colouring will change eventually, causing them to seem almost invisible. Excersice your tummy muscles, moisturize daily maybe more than once.. Expecially while skin is stil damp from shower.
like charise says, some damage could have been prevented somewhat by constant moisturizing while pregnant to retain the elastisity in the skin.
if you ever become prego again, replenish the moisture often. often , often.
I also (having 4 kids) slightly moisturized and massaged the perenium ( the small amount of skin between vagina and anal openings.) this helps eliviate the possibility of having episiometry. (cutting or tearing)
worked for me...makes sense. good luck

yes...unfortunately it happened to me. i got those hideous stretch marks on my thighs also because i got preclampsia and i swelled up...i had my daughter 7 months ago and the stretch marks have faded a bit, but the belly sagging is still in effect...the stretch marks won't go completely away, but if you use cocoa butter it seems to make them less visible

Well, it is too late now you should have done the work before the baby. I have two girls and no marks, I used palmers cocoa butter from day one when i found out i was pregnant. Legs thighs stomach breast butt. yeah it really works. they came but i continued to butter up and after the baby they went away. as for the stomach join a gym, i know what you mean about that excess stomach pouch. not cute.
good luck.
