my daughter is 6 weeks old and I can't get her to just lay down and take a nap. she needs to lay on my chest. my boyfriend can't get her to sleep in the middle of the night and we think it's because she likes to fall asleep on my boobs. any suggestions on getting her to sleep without her laying on me, rocking her, or singing to her...

My wife is pumping and bottle feeding our two week old. He seems to eat non-stop and never get full. This can go on for 2-3 hours and he eats only 2-3 ounces during that time. Is this a normal rate or could something be wrong with the nipples that we are using? We tried a stage 2 nipple on the bottle but it was too much for him right now..

Is this slow eating normal?

I've heard 3 months but I know lots of parents start sooner to help to get their babies to sleep through the night better. The last thing I want to do is hurt my son, so I was wondering what some other parents have done.

I just had my baby July 5th 2006 and I'm still bleeding (period). It was running fine a couple of weeks ago, then last Friday it's been flowing very heavy with big clots. Is this normal?
Had a c-section if that helps.

My 3-month-old daughter frequently suffers from gas and many times, the only way to help her feel better is to put her in the swing. However, she almost always falls asleep in the swing and now I'm concerned that I've started a bad habit of letting her nap there. Any suggestions?

I'll start from the beginning...I had our son when my husband was deployed. He came home when my son was 4 months. We had a perfect schedule I like some kind of order and predictability in my life. Now that my husband's back everything’s gone bad. I was so excited that he was going to be there to help...instead he complains anytime I ask him to do something. He barely started giving our son a bath a month ago...and he still seems to have issues with getting him in the bathtub on time. I cook dinner when he gets home from work and ask him to watch our son and again...HE COMPLAINS. I don't understand...he believes he has had a hard day of work and that I should take care of the baby 24/7. It hurts my feelings that he doesn't seee everything I do around the house and understand I've had a hard day too. At the end of the day he wants to snuggle and I'm just beat. He doesn't understand why I need him to help out and a routine. Am I being anal or is this a serious issue? Thanks!

Since birth my son has never learnt to latch on. Initially I alternated between Expressed breast milk and formula. Since stopping the formula 4 weeks ago the weight gain has slowed to hardly anything. In that new mum panic that I'm sure many new mums are prone to - I've started to formula feed again, with a couple of bottles of EBM to keep up the antibodies etc. I'm finding that people seem to be so critical and almost blame the mother for not being able to breast feed - am I alone in finding this? I'd be grateful to hear from other mums on what they've found and how the feed their babies.

He will not sleep through the night, he used to , but not anymore. Sometimes he wakes up and I get him to sleep right away, but sometimes he wakes up and does not go back to sleep for 2 hours....I've tried the music all night long, night light, letting him cry and go back every five minutes, of course bringing him to my bed, but only as a final resource, I just don't know what to do, this has been going on for 4 months now, every night, and even during nap time. We follow every night the same routine, bath, food, bottle, cuddling. Last night, I couldn't even sit down on a chair as he would start screaming, so I had to stay standing next to him for 3 hours......help!!!!

My son is 3 months old and he is to the point where he likes to ball his fits up and he has a very good grip it is hard to get his hanf undone and keep it that way so does anyone have a good idea how to clip his nails I have tried when he is asleep but it is like he knows and he keeps them balled when he is sleeping to. I need to cut them though cause they are long and he is in the stage of sucking on his thumb and fist so I dont want him to cut his gums or his eye or anything when he rubs them.
