I may be buying a crib and changing table in great condition and a very good brand that is rated as one of the best. The thing is it is 6 years old and was wondering if anyone from experience can tell me if thats too old. It doesnt seem to be but I would like another opinion.

I have a 4 day old boy and he seems really contented with me and also stops crying if I pick him up and speak to him and things, but can he actually recognise me? I am his father by the way.

Okay, not literally. But her schedule was: wake at 7am, stay awake for about 1.5 hours, sleep about 30 min. Repeat until around 3 or 4, at which point she would stay awake for about 4 hours straight, take another 30 min name, then stay up until 11. At 11 she would go to sleep until 3, when she wanted her bottle, and back to sleep until 7 again.

Her schedule now: Wake at 5am. Stay awake for 3-4 hours at a time with 10-20 minute naps in between. Get really grouchy after the 2 hour mark but refuse to sleep. Doze off for a decent 30 minutes around 8pm, then up till 11pm. Up for a bottle at 1am. Another at 3am. Another at 5am. And then stay up and play.

I can't get any sleep (no daytime naps as I have a 2 and a 4 year old also) and I can't get any work done-as soon as I run dishwater, or take out a load of laundry to fold, or get my mop bucket ready, she is awake again. I manage to shower during the 8pm nap, but that tends to be my biggest accomplishment for the day. Ideas?

I'm due very soon..August 29th YAY :-) and I'm terrified of breastfeeding. I have very very sensitive nipples and, frankly, I'm nervous about the pain. It is VERY important that I breastfeed since my mother and paternal aunt both have breast cancer (breastfeeding reducing my chances of getting breast cancer) and I know that breastfeeding my baby will be best for her nutrition as well. Does anyone have very sensative nipples and still breastfed? How did you cope?

these 7 1/2 months have been good for me: My weight gain isn't too bad, although I may call the Guinness Book of World Records for my humongus belly, I haven't been overly emotional, but I always see women blaming so much on hormones. When my 1st child was born 13 yrs ago I was walking on the clouds. I know every one is different, but please share your experience and were you hormonally overwhelmed after the birth of your baby?

I had a baby on 8-4 and my Doctor says I have to wait 6 weeks to use our swimming pool. That's the rest of the summer! I'm wondering if anyone did it sooner without any ill effects. I think he's being overly cautious.

Since some people advocate letting a child breastfeed up to age 7, (and I see nothing wrong with their personal choice) suppose a bottle fed child desires his or bottle that long as well? Shouldn't they have it? What do you think? I mean, it's the same thing , different delivery system. The sucking brings comfort, and it they need their "ba ba" past infancy, is this any different than breastfeeding past infancy?

is it cheaper to use cloth diapers??? how do you use them, what to buy, do they leak easily when you have a baby that wiggles and rolls around a lot? i've never known how to use cloth diapers and wonder if it is worth it?

I am a little younger than many of the mom's I come into contact with. I live in an upper middle class neighborhood and most of the other moms are older, and I feel like a clueless kid sometimes. I am 25, not 15 or anything. Maybe I am just sensitive- Are my hormones still kicking? If so, when does it end?

My baby girl just turned 5 months, I wanted to know what kind of feeding schedule moms have them on. I know she is supposed to be drinking 6-8 oz of milk. She will only drink 3-4 oz of milk and then 1 hour later wants 2-4 more. I need help getting her on some kind of schedule. She is gaining her right weight and healthy, but I am fixing her a bottle almost every hour. Help please. She has started rice cereal, loves it, but then quits drinking as much milk

Actually we are afraid to stop milking because we are not sure whether she will eat well after then. Her mother's milk is the only thing our baby desires to drink. She might lose the desire for both sucking & eating if we force her just to eat..
