HI i have just had my post natal check. They take bloods to make sure your bloods are back to normal, they also check your blood pressure, check your tummy to make sure it has went back down to its pre pregnancy size and if you are due a smear they will also do that. They will also discuss contraception with you. It sometimes depends on your GP some like to send a pregnancy test away as well. Hope this has been of some help.

Congratulations

I have put a link in that explains what happens at the post natal check up.

It does say they only do an internal if you have a problem, ah well how things change. lol

Mainly blood pressure and ask how you are. The link explains it better than me.

Hope this helps :-)

Ive now had two children and basically when they check you they will feel your stomach to ensure your uterus is back to normal and they will probably do a test on depression. Pretty much its a few questions that you answer for them to see whether your suffering from post natal depression and to be honest thats about it!

They'll probably check your tummy, maybe your uterus (a pelvic exam) Did you have a Cesearean birth or vaginal? If you had a C-section they'll check your incision. They might check your breasts and ask you questions about how you are eating etc.

it is just to check that you are healing and your womb is not infected, blood pressure all OK, bit like an MOT, nothing to worry about if you are concerned talk to your health visitor or the GP/Nurse at the clinic.. it can all be a bit scary when it is your first babe..

Normally they will check on your wound, if they have not previously done so. They will also check on the size of your uterus to see whether it has gone back to the pre pregnant stage size.
