When a baby is born alot of people save the newspaper or make note of things that were happening in the world. If you had a baby today what headlines woulud you save to show her in the future?

First of all congrats! I would put the stuff in about the middle east as odds are good that they will still be fighting years from now. Look for the over-looked event that will be forgot 20 years from now, but happened on or near the day they were born.

My son was born a few months after 9/11 I saved the headlines for that along with our local events calendar in the paper.
I tried to add some of the things that I was sure they would be talking about in history class when he went to school.
Also wanted some fun upbeat stuff too.
I added a section of the classifieds so he could see how much things cost, grocery store ad, a department store.
This way he could get a good sense of fashion, prices etc.

Someone picked up a local newspaper on the day my daughter was born, for me to keep. Also, I ordered a little poster-like page with her name and stuff at the top, and it tells you all about what her day of birth was like, as far as fads, news headlines, current prices of some items, and that sort of thing. Unfortunately, I don't remember offhand where I ordered it from, but I could check on it.

I would collect things about the ongoing "war" and the events leading up to that most importantly. They need to have more information than what they're going to get in histroy books when they're older.

I would put the price of gas so U can see how much cheaper it is now than it will be in 10 yrs..I did that in 1999 when my twins were born..gas was 1.19, now it is over 3.00..Corny I know. Sorry best I got. :-/

I think the most promising news is addition of new family members to the planet family. It also nicely aligns itself to the wonderful addition to your family. Congrats.
