My daughter is biting me every time she nurses (and hard)! I tried "no" loud enough to startle her, but that didn't work, and I've tried the gentle "no biting mommy", but that didn't work either. Any other suggestions?

My son is eight months old (tomorrow) and for the last week or so has been pulling himself up on everything! He stands for a long period of time and gets up fairly easy. Ususally how long from that point do babies normaly start walking?
I think he want to really bad.

My son feeds almost literally all day long, its not so much for food, more for comfort, something to do, and to go to sleep. I've gotten him used to putting him down to sleep before he falls asleep on me, but he's still really dependent on it. I loved breastfeeding, but I'm just over it now because I can never get anything done because he's always "feeding". PLEASE HELP!

I see how baby carriers are handy. You can set the little baby there while you eat, or whatever. It can even be rocked. Okay. But when I see little babies getting hauled around in them by the handle like slop in a bucket, clunking against things and swinging around like the baby's going to fall out, well, I HATE IT. Little babies (age 0-3 mo) like bodily contact and it is so much easier to just hold the baby and not the clunky carrier. Thoughts?

I'm wanting to start my 4 month old baby on solids but I was wondering how much formula do I give him and how much solids do I give him starting out?

My daughter is 7.5 months and has been on solids since she was 5 months as directed by the health visitor. She used to have bowel movements once/twice a day but recently its been 6 times a day roughly, especially after meals. Is there something wrong or is it normal?

I THINK I remember when she was younger being told that the frequency of the bowels was not important, but it was the consistency - i.e. if its too runny etc (sorry TMI lol). For the record they arent extremely runny poos, they are just soft.

Any advice please? She doesnt have a temp and in all other respects she seems fine really although she isnt eating quite as much as she did (only a very slight change which I had attributed to her not liking the food itself).

My wife and I are expecting our first child in November and have just moved to our new home. Our friends and family are spread across the US, so there is no point in having the shower where we live as no one be able to attend. What would be an appropiate way to send a card announcing a baby on the way and announcing where we have registries without sounding rude?

I used to know this. I thought it was an acronym. Something like “BRAT” food, but I can’t remember what “BRAT” stood for. Anyone have any ideas? Actually it’s my girl friend’s new puppy who has an upset tummy. Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't get it. I breastfeed my 8 mo old but i care for a 6 mo old little girl that is formula fed. Her mom brings me prepared formula but since baby is going through a growth spurt i keep a can of formula at home. Man, i have to wash bottles, sometimes sterilize them, prepare the formula and heat it. What a pain and a hassle! I can just imagine what a pain it is to go out with this kid. Imagine trying to find somewhere to heat the stuff. I'm sooo glad i breastfeed because it's so much easier and so much more convenient. I thought i was just being biased until i started caring for the little girl. I would never think of going through all that trouble. And at night? Please!! Getting up, heating up the formula..ugh..i just don't get it.

BTW this is for the women who could breastfeed but don't want to. I don't get why you choose such a tough way to feed your babies. If it were the best nutrition i would understand but it's inferior nutrition, why go thru the trouble?
