my 7 month old son suffers with flat head syndrome due to lying him on his back to prevent sudden infant death syndrome. All the websites i have seen recommend helmets or straps, but i was just wandering if anyone had let nature take its cause and did there little ones head shape correct itself naturally. Worried to bits about this!

When my daughter was born 5 days later she started bleeding...has anyone had that happen? The doctor told me it's nothing to be worried about...she explained it's because at the time in my womb my daughter's hormones were elevated like mine and I would have begun my period. I just want to know if anyone has had that happen...I'm not worried but just want to get a tally on this occurence...Please no long stories that aren't related to this.

I am pregnant with my 3rd boy. When he is born, my oldest will be 6 and my other little guy will be 2 1/2. Should this new baby get a shower? Ive been doing a lot of reading & some people think its completely acceptable; others think its just not done. Without even asking for a shower, my step-mom said that she wouldnt throw me one. In her opinion its just not appropriate. To me that sounds like shes saying this baby is not as important or worthy of a party, gifts, etc. The thing is, my first two boys didnt have nice things to begin with or they are getting old. I rcvd a new travel system for my 1st son, which was passed down to my 2nd. The thing is now 6-years-old & really worn. Our 1st crib was used, cheap & didnt last long. Our 2nd crib was used too & is not in good shape. The hand-me-down bassinette I used for both of them fell apart long ago. I also was not expecting to get pregnant again, so I no longer have any baby clothes (Im not a pack-rat). Thoughts? Opinions?

I have a beautiful 3 year old son and have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months with another baby. In that time I have had a miscarriage. I am 36 years old and concerned that I am getting too old. Will my son always be sad that he doesn't have a sibling? If you grew up an only child what was it like?? If you only have one child what helped you make that decision?

my friend is 2 months farther along then i am, and before she became pregnant she ran marathons and triathlons and always seemed to be in training for something, so now that she is pregnant she continues to run moderately on the treadmill at the gym. I am 17 weeks pregnant and i walk, because i was never and will never be as athletic as she was. We continually get nasty looks and comments from people. Does this happen to you, and if so how do you handle it gracefully, because usually I want to squirt water on them from my water bottle.

My girlfriend and I have been trying to conceive a child for a year now (she had been on the pill for 4 years when we decided to have a baby). We've done several tests, and the doctors say they don't see what the problem is, and everything seems just fine. Should we get worried though ?

After my daughter was born I breastfed for a year. When I weaned her off the breastmilk my breasts shrunk two cup sizes. I was very stressed at the time so I waited until I gained weight. Now my daughter will be two years old, I'm the same size I was before I was pregnant and my breasts are still smaller than they were before the pregnancy. What happened?

Is it OK to give cows milk when my baby is 1 year old? I have a friend who's pediatrician told her to continue formula after 1 year old. He told her that because he can get more nutrients from formula, but.. since the kid is eating almost all kind of food.. is it really necesary to continue with formula? what is your experience or what did your Ped. told you?

I have only had one ultrasound to date and that was at twelve weeks. The hospital I go through only does two or three ultrasounds if you are having a normal pregnancy. They don't give the second one until you are 24 weeks (which I am next week). They try to make the second one a 4D one if the equipment is available. I am very excited and nervous because I really want to know what gender my baby is. My question is how do 4D ultrasounds work? Are they invasive and should I expect anything different? How many of you found out the genders of your babies through 4D ultra sounds. Because if its harder to find out through a 4D then I will have them do the regular one.
Thanks and any advice is appreciated.

I am 17 weeks, I know it's normal for my stomach to be soft, (it's hard after I eat), but i feel pressure on the bottom of my abdomen sometimes. What is that? I can't get to my doctor for another couple weeks. This is my first pregnancy. I just want to make sure it's not a miscarriage.

Someone I know is expecting a boy soon and is confused about circumcision. How many of you have been through this and what are the benefits. Is all the loose skin trimmed off or do they just trim around the end? I mean is there different ways/results or are they pretty much all the same? Is it better to have all the skin trimmed off leaving the head and rim always showing or with the skin left to cover half the head?

Today I saw a midwife that I dont normally see.
She beat up on me for only gaining 22lbs during this pregnancy.
I am currently 35 weeks.
She said my stomach is measuring 33 and it measured 33, 10 days ago. So no change.
She proceeded to say that she thinks my baby might have placenta growth retardation. but she doesnt even want to see me again for 2 weeks then if im still measuring the same, she will send me for a sonogram. She thinks right now (by feeling my stomach) that the baby is only 4 pounds if that)
I come from a family of all small babies. I was 100 pounds before I got pregnant. so I did gain 22 lbs. When I was born I was only 5lbs and 9 ounces.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

(Im trying to get a second opinion but I cant speak to anyone until tomorrow)
