use ultra thin pads with out wings look at the link. i use these and they are great they are thin and never leak. and dont feel like a diaper.

no one will notice or care that your wearing a pad. you kids have it better than when i was your age we didnt have ultra thin pads. they dont show near as much as they did ten years ago. no one will notice they will notice you with blood on your pants at the crotch everyday for a week

I was scared of tampons for the first two years of my period but now I love them and would never go back to pads again. I suggest trying out playtex ultra slim tampons...they're really skinny so they're easy to use and don't hurt at all. Just read the little instruction thing that comes in it so you know how to put it in. If you don't want to try them or try and fail..I used the always ultra thins with wings when i was younger too, I found them to be the most comfortable. Maxi pads are really bulky so I wouldn't suggest those. I know you are self conscious about it, but no one probably even knows when you have your period. Don't be discouraged if you can't get the tampon thing right away cuz it took me a while until I was pretty much forced to use one on vacation so I could go swimming, just relax and keep trying.

Pads and tampons aren't that bad. Personally I dislike pads because of the feeling, but they're really handy and much safer than tampons. I recommend the ultra thin Always pads with wings is the wisest choice but if you don't like wings they have those available too. Just remember to change and shower often and maybe carrying a little bit of perfume just in case!

Uh by the sounds of it I don't think you're that old, but in any case you haven't used a tampon yet. If you are going to use one I recommend Pearl Juniours. Make sure you get the right size or its not going to be such a wonderful experience the first time. When you use them the first time you shouldn't feel much, but if you can't do it the first time just take a break and try again later.

I recommend you find out about TSS also if you're going to use tampons. Either one you choose its up to you, do what you are most comfortable with.

and don't worry about the little leak ;)
I'm sure its happened to the best of us.

P.S.

Don't worry about not knowing how to put a tampon on in, the instructions come with them :)
Don't use them if you aren't comfortable with it. Just so you know, its something that you put inside of your vagina. Seriously, go talk to your mom or dad or even the nurse.

Yes pads r like diapers. & tampons can be scary. No worries----ULTRA THIN PADS! They r just like pantiliners. They have wings & no wings. I would suggest wings for heavier days. There is no difference in what a thick diaper pad can hold & an ultra thin pad. Try Always Ulra thin pads, or Stayfree. Both r good. Thats what I use, & I get a heavy period. Change every couple hours too. Good luck! (& don't worry, I am sure no one saw. & if someone did, it has happened b4, u r not the only 1!)

When I started wearing thinck pads (when I was 11) I hated it. Its kinda like when you first get those training bras ( they bug you and hurt and you just wanna take it off)Now im 13 and they don't bug me. Now when Im done w/ my period and I stop wearing them I feel weird like a peice of me is missing! You get used to it don't worry. I'll give you some advice;
1. You may feel like people can tell you are wearing a pad even when you wear jeans but they really can't! When you are on your period you get more self conscious
than usual so you make your self "belive they can see your pad trough your jeans".
2. Wait wearing tampons untill you have to (like swimming) and when you are comfortable with your body.
3. On a weekend, even if you aren't on your period wear a thick pad just to get used to it. If you do it for like a month or so everyweekednd they won't bother you anymore!

The best thing to di Girl is to seriosly try tampons they hurt less than you think. It takes a few tres but one its in you wont even notice its there. As for pads, they have come out with pads that dont have wings but are super absorbant look for kotex or Always they always have something new every time that can fit a girl need. You have to be in control of your peroid and dont let it be in control of yourself. Hang in there!

Panty liners are just for the very end of your period. If you dont like the ultra thin maxis (Always brand is the best in my opinion) then you need to practice with tampons. Just follow the directions in the box. Always wear a liner with a tampon, because they eventually do leak if you forget to change them.

ok..one: its ok if you don't kno how to put on a tampon..it took me like a month to figure it out b4 i started using them. but they have the instructions on them. two: umm, i really don't think there is a way someone can tell you have on a pad...unless you haven't changed it in a while. three: you might as well try the pads on with wings...i'ma admit..i hate them too...but they work. so yea..you should try them. four: ummm, make sure you NEVER EVER EVER wear light blue or white jeans when your on your period...no telling what may happen, hun.
Hope I helped!

How about using wingless pads. Try the extra long super kind of pads from Always. The wings help keep it in place, but they do get uncomfortable. You definitely need something more absorbent than panty liners.

I dont like using tampons either, you dont need to if you feel uncomfortable with it. Just buy regular pads without wings. Thay work great.
