Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 January 2007

It seems my husband can't seem to get anything right. I feel like I tell him the same thing ten times, like he cannot keep up with all the changes I want to make or the changes that I am going through. He is so assertive! I tried to ask his opinion on things months ago and he did not seem that interested. Now that I have planned to decorate and do things my way, he feels like contributing, but only his dissatisfaction with the way I am handling things.
He will let me eat a Big Mac and fries, but I can't have chocolate. He wants the crib in a certain direction and the boy MUST have his name. I feel like I am losing more and more control over this pregnancy every day because of his bullheadedness when I am the one sacrificing my body, my sanity, and I am trying to write an honors thesis (that I also have to defend in March) and I'm taking off the next semester to stay home with the baby. His demands and complacency are driving me mad! How do I stay sane and not ruin my marriage?

I just wanna can does the fathers or mothers side of the family kinda determine the sex of your babies? Im carrying my 3rd baby,i have 1 girl and 1 boy..my parents have 5 girls including me and 3 boys,my hubby has 4 sisters and 2 brothers..does this help determine if im gonna have a boy or girl? I will love my baby regardless of sex but just cant wait to find out!!

He's 13 months old and I have stayed home with him since birth. Now I have a part time job and he is going to daycare. I am so scared of all the bad things that could happen and I'm so sad to be leaving him with someone else. It kind of makes me sad because he's just growing up too fast:( How did any of you other mommies handle it? Did you cry the first time you dropped your baby off? I am afraid that I am going to cry buckets and I'll be embarassed. Any advice? Thanks!

did in P.E. at school, he told me they did Cup Stacking... What the hell does Cup Stacking have to do with Physical Education?!?!?!

I want my son to be physically fit, not a nerd who can stack cups fast !!!!

I had unprotected sex over the summer with my ex boyfriend.... he did come inside me more then once, (no type of birth control) i can't remember the last time i have had a "normal" period. I never really kept track of them right after we broke up i bleed like the next week for like a day, then I bleed ( very lite) the next couple months.. i have taken like 6 pregnancy test and they all have came out negative, but i haven't had my period in like almost 4 months. I have alot of viginal discharged ( sometimes i wake up and its just every where on my underwear, and that has never happen).. i'm a thick girl, my stomach has gotten bigger and the upper part AND towards my belly button is very hard.. i can even feel movements( sometimes like viberations, or like a heart beat) . I would be like 7 months pregnant ...( i went to a hope clinic) and they told me i wasn't and i took a test anothernegative.. should i be worried? i haven't gone to the doc. yet .. am i overreacting? help me!!!

I am four days late for my period. My last period started December 8th (I have longer cycles...31-35 days, last cycle was 35 days) and I did not have sex, but close genital contact (no penetration) on December 18th (way before I should have ovulated if I wasn't pregnant). I've taken several hpts and all have come back negative with first morning urine. I have been extremely stressed out the last few months, and I got a blood pregnancy test at the doctor today and it was negative. At this point, it's probably pretty certain that result is correct, right? Thanks.

I have two questions. One is kinda silly. I hear so much about the mucas plug. What exactly is that? And when you lose is, is that when labor is going to start? & how do you know if you've lost it?

Second, I'm 32 weeks with my first baby, and the last couple of days ive been having some bad back pains, upper and lower, and also some slight cramps in my abdomin. My daughter is still kicking and moving like crazy, so i'm sure she's okay, I'm just wondering if the new pains are common at this time in pregnancy?

and her bottom lip is already irritated, and the skin underneath her bottom lip is red and it looks as though blisters are appearing. I have only seen her actually suck on her lip once, (tonight) right before bed. She just started daycare and I am scared she is doing this out of nervousness. How can I get her to stop before it damages her teeth and turns into a big ordeal? I have spoken to her about how she is giving herself an "owie" and shown her the damage in the mirror. But she is only 2.. what can i do besides putting something "that tastes yucky" on her face? She also has been biting her nails to the nubbs sense she was 1.. I haven't had to cut her nails in a year and a half!

p.s. she is a very outgoing, talkative little girl and only seems insecure when being introduced to children, not adults.

i'm thinking i may be pregnant.

my boyfriend and i had sex new years day. (midnight)
that was the day i ended my period.
we had sex from like the 6th-11th every day.
he didnt come on any of the days.
but there is a such thing as precum.
lately ive been having a really wierd feeling in my uterus.
i've been cramping mildly and kind of a tingling sensation.
is there any possibility that i may be feeling symptoms of becoming pregnant or something?

according to a calculator for ovulation i was most fertile durring the 5-9th of january.

mostly im just asking for advice on whether or not the feelings i have are possible pregnancy?

Hi, I just wrote a question about am I pregnant? Of course I want to be, so when I saw the faint line I got excited. But being on digitals they flat out say pregnant or not pregnant. I dont know whether you need to look at the lines on this one. I looked at another test that I will take another day, just to see if you could see lines at all and you can't. You know before you take it, thinking that maybe its just saying where the lines will show up if you are. Its just wierd that I am having these symptoms. Sore breasts, puking...and I mean it literally came out of nowhere. I was fine at lunch, and about 3pm I was like OH MY Im going to be sick. So should I not take it in the morning, should I wait a couple days? Is there another brand I could get at this point? DO the dollar store brands work just as good? At my son's 6th month appointment the doctor told me that he would only be about 5'7" when he matures into an adult. He's now almost 12 months and I'm concerned about it. That makes no sense to me because I'm 5'8" and my husband is 6"8. We both come from very tall families on our mothers sides but on his father's side they are all short. Is there any true height prediction or can the predicted height be wrong? It just doesn't add up to me! Thanks for your answers!

My daycare lady said it is way more than she has seen in any other kid she has watched in 18 years. I took him to 5 different doctors who all said that he is normal, but they have not seen him for long periods of time, just on the visits where of course- he is an angel. He won't even sit on the floor and just play with me, he always wants to be doing something or crying- even if he has my undevided attention- he cries. Now he is to the age where it seems like he is just being a brat, but he has always been this way! My husband thinks it is normal- but I don't. I can not believe people would have more than one if this was normal! Has anyone ever been through this? I think maybe it is something medical- or something- I have to believe this is not as good as it gets, but I do not even know if there is a specialist or anything for this? Any ideas before I go crazy? I will do whatever needs to be done, but I just do not even know where to start.

Why do people think if you used bith control it takes months to get pregnant or get out of your system. Because it DOES NOT! Every body is different. It might take longer to conceive because of the women not because of the birth control. I was on birth control for five years. Got off it and within that month I was pregnant. That is why women can get pregnant on the pill because they skip days sometimes. Once you stop taking birth control it is out of your system. BUT it's best to wait untill you have a normal period before ttc. I dislike how people are like "It takes a year to get out of your system" Nopers. I've chatted with my doctor about it as well he laughed. I know I'll get people say why read people comment's on it then. I didn't mean to I was reading something on a pregnancy test and birth control and someone wrote that. I think it's funny but on the other hand they are giving out false information to women who really are trying to conceive. Any comments on this???
