I am four days late for my period. My last period started December 8th (I have longer cycles...31-35 days, last cycle was 35 days) and I did not have sex, but close genital contact (no penetration) on December 18th (way before I should have ovulated if I wasn't pregnant). I've taken several hpts and all have come back negative with first morning urine. I have been extremely stressed out the last few months, and I got a blood pregnancy test at the doctor today and it was negative. At this point, it's probably pretty certain that result is correct, right? Thanks.

Blood test is the most accurate test out there, so if it's negative, then you're not pregnant.

It sounds like it to me. You sound like your periods are pretty regular and normal. What did the doctor say about you being late?? I know i took five home tests and every single one came back positive but then when i went to the doctor and took a blood test, it came back negative! Im having symptoms of pregnancy ( Ive been pregnant before).. so im not really sure. Ive been told that the blood test are suppose to be 100% accurate. Im going back to the doctor tomorrow to get an exam to find out for sure!! But if you took home tests and blood work and both said negative iw ould stop stressin about it... thats probably why you are a little late. Stress can play a huge part in late periods or irregular periods!! And if it wasnt direct intercourse and no pentetration occured and you were not ovulating... there is a very slim chance that you could even get pregnant. Good luck to you!

Yes the blood test is accurate. If blood test was taken after 4 days late it's accurate.

Stress and eating habits are big factors in irregular cycles

If the blood test came out negative then you probably arent pregnant those things are usually the more accurate you can get.

It should be showing on a blood test by now. My blood test showed positive just one week after having sex. So did 2 different home pregnancy tests.
