I believe I heard on the news the other day that red hair is a recessive gene, and unless your "partner" also has the recessive red hair gene, there is a slim chance a baby you two have will have red hair.

your child will be no lighter than the lightest parent of you and your partner, and no darker than the darkest parent of you and your partner, therefore I can't say if your child will have red hair & freckles, it depends on which of your genes are more dominant. But regardless of your childs complexion, that child can have a red haired freckled face kid. Just enjoy what you get, and if you have more children together, they can all look the same , or all have different complexions, thats the beauty of genetics.
Congrats to you both !

I don't know the odds, but I would guess the baby will NOT have red hair or freckles....but that also depends on your man's skin tone. Anything is possible!

Darker genes dominate, but I know an mixed Asian girl with red hair and freckles and Asian features. Anything can happen.

My hubby and I just had a little girl, I have brown hair and green eyes he has brown hair and brown eyes. Our daughter ended up with red hair and grey eyes. Guess you will just have to wait and see.FYI babies aren't born with freckles they develop over time.

my mates dad (and fellow redknob) told me that apparantly to have red hair you have to have the 'red hair gene' on both sides of the family, so on that the odds are probz 0-nothing.
however he could be wrong
