Pregnancy & Parenting - 15 December 2006

I hate asking so many questions, but this will be my first pregnancy if i am pregnant. So i have a lot of questions.

I had sex a week ago today. We had sex Friday, SAt., sun, monday, and Tuesday. My fertile days were Monday-Sat. and I suppose i ovulated after for the last of those days. So chances of me being preg are good, no?

I have been getting sick since Friday. Not just "morning" but even at night. I pee constantly. I can drink four sips out of the water fountain and pee for ten minutes. I breasts are very sore and tender, to the touch, and i get frequent headaches, dizzy and very very very tired. I am more tired than usual and even loss of appetite. what's up?

i am very snappy too, which is not common for me.I really don't feel like this is PMS by no means. I never have symptoms during PMS< never even cramp. so i know my body and it's been this way since i was 13....ack Help me!


BTW, i am trying to conceive so if i am it;s not a bad thing.

I have been trying to conceive for 3 years while off and on fertility drug combo of clomid along with the use of insulin drug metformin... any one have luck with this????

My 8yr old son came home from school the other day and said that the 1st and 2nd grade students at his school were having a "biggest loser" competition. He asked if he could join and I said no. My reasoning behind this is while I believe kids need to learn about proper nutrition, I don't feel that kids between the ages of 6 & 8 should be competing to loose weight. I am a nursing student with a focus on psychiatric. I am also a recovering bulemic. Recent published reports are showing the starting ages of eating disorders are down to ages 9 or 10. Am I wrong to not let my son participate in this and should I complain to the school that the school nurse shouldn't be allowed to implement this. You're not supposed to start a diet/exercise regimen until you consult w/ your Dr. and I feel that by doing this, the school is opening young children up to the possibility to develop serious eating disorders that could have major (neg) health risks. What would you do?

I am 36 and getting re-married. I have 2 girls from a previous marriage (14 and 10) and I have this over whelming desire at times to have another baby. I find my self watching all the baby birthing shows on the discovery channel, I find EVERY baby in a store and talk to them and to top it off the man I am marrying does not have any children of his own. On the other hand, I look at how our lives are now and it is soooo easy with the girls being older and it would dratically change everything and that is when I think it is just my biological clock ticking and I am crazy for thinking of another baby. I also think of my age and his age (he is 40) and think we are just too old to bring another child into the world. What do you think?

OK - I have an 8 month old and I am still breastfeeding. He is losing interest and eating a lot more, so my milk had gone way down. I don't leak anymore and never feel "full". I havent' worn breastpads in ages. I am getting my period reguarly. I noticed that my milk supply suddenly shot up - to the point of leaking and hurting so full. Coul dthe sudden increase in milk be a sign of pregnancy? Did that happen to you?

I am a single mom and I do everything for my two teenage kids (17 and 13 yrs old). I work two jobs and I make sure they have a roof over their heads, food everynight, and clothes on their back. My daugher who is 17 has a problem doing any little thing I ask of her (take the meat out of the freezer, bring me a glass of water) and my son can be disrespectful to adults when I'm not around, sometimes does his homework, sometimes does his chores. However my daughter let me know that she wants an ipod, ps3, and some jewelry for christmas. My son tells me he wants a xbox 360, games, and some clothes. last year they didnt even buy me anything or even make anything for christmas. I feel like they take me for granted and Im fed up with them. All the kids and the adults in my neighborhood say they wish they had a mother like me. Their dad is just sorry and full of empty promises who forgets birthdays, christmas', and doesnt pay child support. I dont think they should get xmas this year.

I have had 3 positive home pregnancy tests and have had symptoms like aching breasts, nausea, sleepy all the time, cravings, late period etc..

HOWEVER - I have PCOS and on METFORMIN - and my periods are irregular anyway.

Is the urine test I have done at the GP's positive or negative??

I know yogurt and applesauce is good for you, but I only give them to her as a snack and she doesn't seem to understand that. If I give her one kid size cup of applesauce, she cries so I have to give her another cup. Same thing with yogurt. She seems to think that when I give her a snack, it's meant for her to get full from like a meal so when she doesn't get full from the snack she cries. When I give her a few cheese crackers, she cries for more until I give her the amount she's satisfied with. Do I need to teach her now that applesauce, yogurt and other similar snacks are meant to be for dessert/snack only and is not a replacement for a meal? I mean I like that she loves applesauce and yogurt but do you see anything wrong with me giving her 2 of them until she's satisfied? She's 1 years old and is a normal size baby.

Can I get some tips on breastfeeding? My 1 month old son will not latch on for anything! I've tried pretty much everything anyone has told me. I talked to a nurse and she told me to keep trying and that eventually he will get it, and he is not. Is it too late to give up hope? I know I am not but I feel like a horrible mother that he is not getting the nutrients he needs from the breastmilk. I have been giving him formula.

so far im on a 30 day cycle. Period came on Nov. 16th, and i dont feel cramps or any signs of it even coming.

I am not supposed be able to take an ept until next Friday but i am already getting really nausiated and feeling funny to my stomach. I know it's not nerves, i'm not stressing this at all. After sex a girl start to have more thicker vaginal flow and having to use bathroom more often. Does this mean that she is pregnant? This is was her first time, and niether her nor her boyfriend remember about his sperm been put in her. What are the signs of pregnancy other then stop of period? Can a girl be pregnant with little sperm entering her or does it require a lot? What are the common first sign for those who are having sex for the first time?
