Pregnancy & Parenting - 4 December 2006

Just curious what others are doing. My boys have begun to play with toy guns -acually they aren't even toy guns - a toy drill used as a gun, a squirt gun w/o water. They like to pretend to shoot bad guys and fall over like they've been hit. It's pretty good acting, but I'm not sure about the gun play.

My child is being punished at school severly. He usually can not tell me what happened. He does remember the punishment for whatever it was though. I have asked the teacher and she will tell me something like, " He wouldn't sit still." He is only five, do any five year old boys sit perfectly still all the time? The teacher says kids memory doesn't process things that happened a few hours ago. My child is no angel, but if he can't recall what he done, how is punishing him for it going to help. I am not a parent tahe believes every word my child says. I started the school year out with an open mind, but I am having a hard time keeping things that way. Since the second week of school he has been sitting by him self at a table. He has to walk in the front of the line anywhere they go. She has even made him sit with her at lunch a NUMBER of times. I just want so SERIOUS insight on childhood develoment. Please excuse Spelling.

Ok, they are really upset at me because they said i am just in middle school and i have a 85 in social studies, and an 82 in PROBE math. I use to have B's in ALL my subjects, and they got really mad at me! Especially because of the math thing because it is my worst grade! The teacher said that if I get close to perfect grades I would probably be able to raise my grade up to a 90. I also am going to raise the social studies one. I raised the other 2 academic classes, and my "connections", orchestra and health, I have good grades. Middle School is so stressing! Plus I never feel like I can talk to my parents, especially not my dad cuz he like expects me to be perfect. I seriously have no one to share my feelings with except my friends. I seriously have had enough of EVERYTHING!!!!! i can't cope with it anymore. everyday i have so much to do, and to top it off i have a lot of homework and studying!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, I have to get all A's in all classes in 3 weeks!!!!!!!!!

im onlyyung, i kno tihs. and i think im abusing alcohol. i dont relli think. but when im babysitting my brother he causes a lot of trouble and puts me under soooooo much stress. i also have a few frend and boyfriend issues but thats not the problem. my mom keep things like Bayleys, Vodka and other alcoholiv drinks around, and when shes not home ill mix sumthing for myself. i do it to make the pain leave me and to lighten myslef up some. i drink untill i feel dizzry and cant seem to stand up or say anything without laughing. i dont kno wut being drunk is like and i doubt i have been. i need advice on how to deal with my problems. [no councelors plz, family does not accept it into religion]

The cycle that I did have was late, so I thought I was pregnant before it came but when it did it was very light and only lasted 2 days . Since my guy and I were doing it a whole lot I can only assume I am pregnant. Am I right?

if I had two girls both at 37 weeks. would my chances of my boy being born at about 37 weeks also? I am due Jan 27th my hubby works security, and will be at the sundance film festival between the 18th-28th. I am hoping I will have my baby around the tenth so he can be here to help me with my girls. I am sure he will come to watch the delivery no matter what, but extra help would be nice. I know every pregnancy is different. but do my chances look good? or is this just wishfull thinking....

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and I have been getting braxton hicks contractions since about 25 weeks or maybe even sooner (not sure) but does these early contractions mean I could possibly have a greater chance of going into preterm labor or anytime before 40 weeks rather than going past 40 weeks?

I love my kids dearly, and wouldn't trade them for the world, but life has become unbearable in my house. I have a 2 and a 4 year old. They don't listen, no matter how many times I repeat myself, time outs don't work- they just do it again as soon as I let them up (actually the 2 year old won't even stay on time out). I've tried spanking but I really hate doing it, as I feel it only teaches them the wrong lesson and it doesn't really work anyways. I feel like they have the control and I know I need to assert myself and take charge but where do I start? Please, I only want serious and understanding responses. Thank you in advance!

When you ovulate your cervix opens up more and you get the boogery stuff...or is it when its just liquidy? I think i am im really not sure..its never been this Open before and ive felt kinda wet all day but when i wiped it was boogery..is that how it works....?!

Not knowing I drank a soy protein drink my husband just bought, after the second sip I realized it was bad so I spit it out? I'm 6 weeks preganant and wondering if the bad milk will harm the baby? Did swallow, but ran to the bathroom and tried to puck up the drink!

had sex with this girl two weeks ago (19 nov). she called me that saturday (25 nov) to tell me that she thinks she missed her period. i wore a condom, i did not c*m, and it did not break. last thursday we went to take and EPT and it said "not pregnant". she claims to not have had sex with anyone else (but I am not so sure). i instinctively feel as though i couldnt have gotten her preg. whats interesting is that she claims to have serious financial problems and is begging for help with mortgage. even said "give me money so I can go to doctor and figure it out myself" (but who knows how she would really use the money) deep down i dont trust her...so , we are going to meet tonite..if she takes another EPT tonite do you think it would be accurate at this point? she said her period is never normal and shes not even sure what here cycle is...please help me. i am feeling like she might be dragging her feet so i can give her money and may grind me down over time. what do you think?

My 9yr. has been caught at school drawing body parts and I've found searches where he's tried to find celebrities naked, I'm not a preud when it comes to the human body I'm pretty free but I just want to take a joke on is it time for the sex talk or should I hold off, I'm thinking of taking the bibical route telling him how sin came into the world and we have to wear clothes but we all love the human body school just isn't where we talk about it what do you think?

At what age should a child be able to feed himself with a fork and spoon? My first son did at like 1 year and did fine. My second was taught everything the same way and is almost 2 and still won't feed himself. He will try somtimes but he can't get it and gives up. If it isn't finger food he just won't eat it, and then I end up feeding him just so he will eat.

I've tried not feeding him and making him do it himself but he refuses and when he won't feed himslef I don't want him to go hungry or malnurished, so that is not an option.

I can't just give him finger food all the time, because I think he should eat what the family is eating.

Any suggestions on what i can do or buy (like a special type) to get him to use his fork and spoon?
