I work at a swimming school and was wondering what are the different way you think of getting kids off arm bands. They become use to it and don't seem to want to try swimming without.

Just curious as to how common it is to go 36 hours during childbirth. That's how long my son took! And 4 hours of pushing. What is YOUR story? How many of you had CRAZY long labors? Was it your first child, second, third, etc. Do you know of anyone with a longer labor? I'm just curios because so far, I haven't met anyone who can even get close!

Why am I like this? I mean I went a week without eating before, but now I really feel woozy and dizzy and I've only done it for 4 days.

Okay, so it goes like this. I had a dentist that I trusted and loved to death, but my new insurance, he doesn't take. I had to move to another dentist. I was supposed to go in today for a root canal, and he started to drill before I was numb. I screamed. The **** hurt. Well, he told me that there was not enough tooth left for a root canal, and that I was going to have to have it pulled.

Here comes the fun part:

He said that it was abcessed, and that I had to take two days of antibiotics before I could get it pulled, and he STARTED TO YELL AT ME. Yes, you heard me correctly. He YELLED at me. Obviously, this is NOT the guy I want doing an extraction.

Well, now that the numbness is starting to wear off, it's starting to hurt like HELL. What makes this MORE complicated is that I'm pregnant. I really can't take anything for the pain except for Tylenol.

I have an emergency extraction scheduled with my old dentist tomorrow. What can I do for the pain in the meantime?

My husband and I are married for about one year and he has a son from a previous marriage that is almost 9 years old. Unfortunately, his son is still not as of yet potty trained at night time. His son does live with his mother full time and she insists on him wearing pull ups at night. When we have him on weekends though he does not wear pull ups with us. We had tried to convince her to not have her son wear pull ups but it has been a loosing battle. It has been a year at this point and she believes that he will outgrow the pull ups eventually. Our thoughts are different, how can he outgrow pull ups if he has never been out of diapers. He rarely has a dry night and I he talks about it openly with us. I just wish I knew a way that we can all agree and get him out of pull ups. The goal is that and I am afraid that the bigger picture is just not clear to her. Any suggestions?

I am 7 1/2 months pregnant with my second child. I started having round ligament pain at around 4 months and I noticed it when I'd been standing for awhile (about an hour). The pain didn't come until late in my 6 month in my first pregnancy, so I knew I was in for it this time with it coming so early. My doctor recommended heat and tylenol, but the heat only helps the pain while it's on, and I haven't noticed the tylenol making a difference. I have a 2 1/2 year old son who is very active, so it isn't possible for me to sit around all day (plus I have a bazillion things to do with a new baby coming and the holidays upon us). I try to take it easy during his nap and once he goes to sleep, but it's not enough. It hurts so bad that just rolling over in bed is excruciating! Sometimes it's bad enough that I limp when I walk.

Has anyone ever had round ligament pain this bad, and how did you deal with it? I've tried maternity belts and girdles, but they just hurt worse. Please help!!

Iam 33 weeks.

not in a painful way. It just tightens up and feels like stone. Maybe only on one side, or in one quadrent....

Ive had contractions, and I assume its something like a contraction, but is mis-shapes your belly so while it happens it really makes me wonder.

Is it from lack of water or the weight of the baby moving or just like a charlie horse in the stomach muscles from all the stretching and stress?

lol. Its so bizzar to have a weird shaped, rock hard belly for a few minutes...

Most questions I post I have given alot of thought to- sometimes for years. Is it some universal trait that parents can't see what their own kids do? That thier children and themselves are not responsible for what they did? "Well, they learned it from so and so's kids". It's urksome. My question: "Is it true in your corner of the globe that this is the norm...that everyone thinks their kids couldn't be the problem." Why can't parents see how bratty their own kids really are- or they pass blame? What can a person say that will help wake these parents-of-future-inmates up?
