YES. We give Motrin (Advil or ibuprofen) to all our breastfeeding moms. For the csections, morphine, dilaudid, Percocets and Vicodins too and those are opiates. Don't worry. If you need it, take it.

Remember the epidural when you had hours of synthetic opiates floating around your body, you didn't worry then did you? The baby was still inside you then. Now one tiny little non-opiate pills gets filtered through your liver, your blood and won't even be noticeable in your breastmilk. I have moms taking prozac, ambien, all kinds of things - IF they need them.

What is wrong with the people on here? Most medications are fine when breastfeeding when used properly and they are needed. Why should you walk around with a headache all day? Ridiculous!

No. Breast feeding required the same medication rules as being pregnant.

Technically its okay, but it does put stress on a baby's kidneys... so why bother?

Try a big glass of cool water first, 80% of headaches are caused by lack of water and muscle strain. The rest if conditions and illnesses.
