Of course, especially if you have any morning sickness. I actually lost 7 pounds my first trimester of my first pregnancy because I was sick all day long for about 2 months straight. And when I expressed concern to the doctor, she said it was pretty normal to lose weight the first trimester, or just not gain any. It's the third trimester that's the most important when the baby really needs the nourishment and puts on lots of weight every day.
Good luck!

Yeppers at 13 weeks I actually lost 15 lbs. Not intentionally, but I was throwing up all the time and couldn't hold much down. The Doc wasn't concerned and now at 18 weeks I gained about 3 lbs since last time. Some people just don't' gain as much or as fast. Bee happy a friend of mine is 3 months and has already gained 20 lbs,

YES! Definitely, I gained 10 lbs my first month but almost nothing for the next 4 months. Weight gain can vary from person to person. Especially if you are sick or not. There are a lot of things that can cause you to gain or not to gain much weight. You should not even worry.

Definately! I gained maybe 10 lbs until my 7th month. During my 8th month, I ballooned! My total weight change from start to finish was 151 at 1st month to 205 at delivery! Talk about stretch marks!!! Good luck with your pregnancy! It's different for every person, so you won't actually know until you get there. Don't be disheartened if you gain more than expected. By the time your little one reaches toddler stage, you'll run it all off chasing after the little booger! :)

Yep... I am 13 weeks pregnant and I have only gained 3 pounds. It is at the end when you will notice more weight gain.

Normal weight gain by the end of the first trimester is only 3-5 pounds. A lot of women use their pregnancies as an excuse to gorge themselves, but you only need 300 extra calories a day, and that is as little as adding 2 apples and a container of yogurt to your diet.

Absolutely! The main time to gain weight is in the last trimester. That is when the baby grows most rapidly!
I gained 9 pounds during my last pregnancy and five of that was in the last 2 months.
If you are active, healthy eater and remember you arent actually "eating for two"
Things will be fine!

I'm at 15 weeks and still haven't gained weight, but I'm adding extra healthy calories- milk, protein, tons of fruit so I can start adding a few pounds. Dr says its ok until this point, but now the baby should be gaining more.
