It depends... usually by 4 months you have put on 5-10 pounds. Generally between 4-6 months its 10 pounds. And then the rest of the 25-30 pounds between then and delivery.

Honestly its different with each pregnancy. You might need to gain more, or you might just gain more because you over eat. Or you might not gain a thing.

Every pregnancy is different, but in the first three months you shouldn't really gain too much weight. I think I gained about 5 pounds in the first 3. Some people gain more, some less. Most of your weight gain should happen towards the end of your second trimester and third trimester. You don't actually want to "eat for two." You want to increase your caloric intake by about 300 calories extra a day -- So that could be a healthy snack, a glass of milk and a piece of fruit or a cup of yogurt and an ounce of cheese, etc.

In the end though -- just listen to your body and don't stress about weight too much. My sister's doctor told her -- you can gain as much weight as you want, but you're the one who has to lose it after you have the baby. (incidentally she gained 35 lbs total and lost 25 of it with delivery and breast feeding in the first 3 months and lost the rest with normal exercise)
