I am 7 1/2 months pregnant with my second child. I started having round ligament pain at around 4 months and I noticed it when I'd been standing for awhile (about an hour). The pain didn't come until late in my 6 month in my first pregnancy, so I knew I was in for it this time with it coming so early. My doctor recommended heat and tylenol, but the heat only helps the pain while it's on, and I haven't noticed the tylenol making a difference. I have a 2 1/2 year old son who is very active, so it isn't possible for me to sit around all day (plus I have a bazillion things to do with a new baby coming and the holidays upon us). I try to take it easy during his nap and once he goes to sleep, but it's not enough. It hurts so bad that just rolling over in bed is excruciating! Sometimes it's bad enough that I limp when I walk.

Has anyone ever had round ligament pain this bad, and how did you deal with it? I've tried maternity belts and girdles, but they just hurt worse. Please help!!

The more you move and stretch the better it gets. Laying down and sitting only keeps the tendons from doing the stretching they need to do.

It really will pass, and yes, it does really hurt that bad.

I had a few days where it was so bad that i broke down and took a tylenol. It helped a lot. But mostly just walking around and stretching helped a lot.

Also, not having enough water in your system makes it worse.

Honestly, I think it sounds more like the baby is on a nerve, which is also normal for pregnancy, and hurts like holy hell. I had that too.

Also, try a belly band, you can get them in stores and through catalogs, online and things like that. Theyre straps that kinda hold your stomach up so it doesnt stretch and hurt to much. They can make your back hurt though.. lol.

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and I am having the same excruciating pain. I know what you mean about how much it hurts just to roll over in bed. I have also been told to do the Tylenol and heat thing. Doesn't really help for me.
I was also told by my doctor that some of the pain I was experiencing was due to the weight being put on my sciatic nerve.
I hope you find something that works for you. Sorry I can't help with a solution but just thought I would let you know that you are not alone is this pain. Good luck hun

Oooh, I had it, and got no sympathy from my doctor and nurses. Have you tried those heating pads that stick to you?
