It's probably the real thing and best to go to the hospital to make sure. You don't want to chance something like this. Good luck!

Your crazy girl. You need to call the hospital let them know what's going on and go straight over there. Real contractions are 3-5 min. apart braxton hicks aren't! Believe me cause my labor contractions at first were manageable. Good Luck Honey!

If they are only lasting 30 seconds and you can talk through them then no. They need to be 3-5 minutes apart, lasting 60 seconds, and you uncomfortable enough that you can't talk thru them. If it's your first baby they need to be like this for about 2 hours, if it's not your first then an hour. Those are the "rules" we give our moms to be where I work. They lessen the chances of you getting sent home not in labor. Best of luck.

3 to 5 mins apart for 6 hours....GET TO THE DOCTOR!
If they have been timed on the dot, and they are consistent with the time. you need to go in. if the time changes from 3 minutes to 5 to 4, then you may not be in labor, but getting close. why don't you drink a big glass of water. lay down, maybe go to the bathroom. if none of those help. then you are probably in labor.

Until they are regular like one every five minutes, then I would say it is just Braxton Hicks. You should call you doctor and let them know. Irregular contractions ones with varying times, one five minutes, one three minutes, one five minutes again is usually just Braxton Hicks.

With true labor they also will start to last longer and get more painful. I think you are okay, but I do not know all of your situation and I am not your doctor.

Sounds like labor hun. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you've never experienced it. I would call your doctor. I was in labor and didn't know for sure. I ended up pushing in the car and was on my way when my contractions were less than a minute apart. Hurry!!!!

It's the start of active labor! If it feels like just really bad cramping, you're probably only 2-4 cm dialated though. Go to the hospital and settle in for a wild and crazy ride! Good luck! Once you hit 5-6 cm, you'll go quickly!
