I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and I have been getting braxton hicks contractions since about 25 weeks or maybe even sooner (not sure) but does these early contractions mean I could possibly have a greater chance of going into preterm labor or anytime before 40 weeks rather than going past 40 weeks?

braxton hicks usually start at 20 weeks.and having alot doesnt at all mean you will go into early labor.i had them alot with my last son and he was only 9 days early.so maybe earlier than 40 weeks but not preterm.b/h are just practice contractions and dont really do much of anything in the beginning.they can however help labor get started when your body is ready for it to be started.just keep an eye on them cause my doc said more than 4 an hour means i need to call her.also there are things that can make them stop like eating, staying hydrated, laying down or walking around.oh and my b/h do hurt sometimes.thats why you have to keep an eye on them.

Hi, I had braxton hicks contractions for a while before having my son. They can hurt. It dont mean u will have preterm labor either. Also is this ur first pregnancy? I had my son 12 years after my other son and i thought my braxton hicks were labor pains because how much they did hurt. You will definatley know when labor hits you. Good luck making it another 7 to 8 weeks.

First off, anything after 38 weeks is safe. Second off, my daughter didn't have 1 Braxton Hicks contraction and had her baby 8 weeks early. My other daughter has Braxton Hicks from about 6 months on and they have had to induce her every time. So I would have to say that Braxton Hicks has nothing to do with it.

braxton hicks contractions are normal. I started experiencing braxton hicks at about 25 weeks and i have had them ever since im curently 39 weeks pregnant. some of them where so uncomfterable they were actualy what i consider painful. but no pre term labor. you just have a few more weeks and you will be out of the pre term labor catagory. good luck !

I'm 22 weeks and get braxton hicks at all times, usually a minimum of two and hour. My uterus balls up and will get difficult and there is plenty of stress that includes it. Sometimes they're very uncomfortable, however they do not quite harm. If your cervix wasn't replacing, then they're surely braxton hicks. I fear oftentimes that it is untimely exertions, purchase my surgeon says that I do not must fear approximately them until they're coming in consistent periods and I have greater than four an hour.
