Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 November 2006

My mother's expecting a baby on November 30. When she went to the doctor last Wednesday, she found that she was 50% effaced but not dialated. I understand effacement and dialation, but how long can we expect to wait before she goes into labor? Thanks for the help!

me and my partner are trying for a baby we had sex he came inside me, the next day i had my period.
is it possible for you to still get pregnant or does the sperm get washed away (sorry for the bluntness)
please dont think im stupid for asking this but its never something i have really thought about

i am 38 weeks and every tells me that i should feel the baby move less now since i am getting close but he is still very much active he gets the hiccups at least once a day and still likes to kick i know that i am getting close b/c he has dropped quite a bit i can feel alot of preasure down there especially when standing for awhile has anyone else had an active baby till the end?

I've been trying to conceive for 4 years, and after my third IUI I finally got a positive home preganancy test. (2 home test) yesturday and this morning) This afternoon I started to get mild cramps like I was going to start my cycle. When I went to the bathroom, I had dark brown spots in my panties, and a lighter red when I wiped. It's not really bad, but I'm very worried. Is this normal?

Why do people always feel the need to tell other women on here that they have enough children? I am always seeing women asking questions about wanting more children , etc..and then there is always someone who has to comment and say something like, Dont you think you have enough kids already. Why dont you stop, or there is enough in the world today, etc, etc...Its just none of their business. I dont get it. I think its wonderful to want a big family.

but now it's significantly higher, and I am worried. He had his MMR shot 11 days ago and side affects take place around this time. Should I take him to the E.R. instead of waiting for the pediatrician tomorrow to make sure he is ok? I am nervous. I have been giving him tylenol, and mortrin since yesterday, and pedialyte to keep him hydrated. THANKS!

Hi all, i am 22 years old and 27 weeks pregnant and have had blood test and scan for Downs Symdrome, which came back as low risk being 1:37000.

For some reason i can't stop thinking that i might have a baby with Downs, i know this is going to sound silly but i keep seeing down's people which gets me thinking that maybe it is a sign or something. It is like when you buy a new car, you then seem to see that same car everywhere.

What do you think my chances are of having a downs baby?

I do. Plus leg cramps, slight headaches, mild abdominal cramps, fluid from my boobs, slightly tender nipples, tingly boobs. . . .and a negative HPT. I took the test this morning, at 11 DPO. (FRER) So I'm definately ruling out pregnancy, but what do u think?

Hey everyone! I've been trying to get pregnant for the past 4 months. Well so far I've had my period everytime but it has been a little different (Lighter, earlier). The last time I had my period was October 17 and had sex everyday around ovulation.. (Oct.26-November 3) I still have 5 more days til my period is suppose to come. But the last week or so I have been feeling very different then I normally do, (even before I have my period), My nipples and around areas hurt a lot, I'm pretty sleepy, sometimes I get these light cramps on one side a little moody and I have headaches all the time. I'm not sure if I should take a test now or wait a few more days. Please help me and give me your advice and tell me if you think I could be pregnant. Thanks a lot for reading this!

My boyfriend's mom is getting married next June and I'm afraid she will move to San Rafael. He will be in another middle school than me and I'm worried that maybe another girl will steal him from me. I'm trying to think of a way to keep him near me and I'm thinking maybe my parents can adopt him. They could grant his mom visitation rights. Oh, I won't think of him as a brother lol lol. Oh another problem is that they think we "like" each other too much and use that as an excuse to "cool" us down. They NEVER let us be alone for long periods of time. I wonder why lol lol? I'm not real worried yet cause nothing will happen until June but I'm a little worried.

if you have missed a months period- my dilemma is i dont remember if i had it in october and now its the 3rd week of november and i should have gotten it by now! ived been looking at dark nipples, but i dont have any, strech marks nope, i only see one blob of belly !! and i think its because im gaining weigh! i dont seem to have any major nausea or any kind of pregnancy systoms! im freakin out! has this happen to you and what have you done ? any other signs i should be looking for ? im a very regular person too!

Okay, so I normally get my hair relaxed and highlighted, but now that I'm pregnant I'm wondering if thats okay??

I've heard some people say it is not good and that I should not do it and I've heard other say that its no big deal. Anyone have any idea?
