Pretty early for the ultrasound machines to pick it up. Maybe as early as 5 weeks. But if you're using one of those kinds you can buy in the store for home use, the baby is not big enough for quite some time... 4-5 months at least.

It is at about 8 weeks. They thought I was 8 weeks along and when they didnt hear the heart beat they panicked and ran an emergency ultrasound to find that I was only 6 weeks.

My doctor doesn't try to see it on ultrasound until you are about 7 wks. You can usually hear it on doppler by 12 weeks.
