My boyfriend's mom is getting married next June and I'm afraid she will move to San Rafael. He will be in another middle school than me and I'm worried that maybe another girl will steal him from me. I'm trying to think of a way to keep him near me and I'm thinking maybe my parents can adopt him. They could grant his mom visitation rights. Oh, I won't think of him as a brother lol lol. Oh another problem is that they think we "like" each other too much and use that as an excuse to "cool" us down. They NEVER let us be alone for long periods of time. I wonder why lol lol? I'm not real worried yet cause nothing will happen until June but I'm a little worried.

Ok the reason I was thinking San Rafael is because that's where her finace's parents live. But I talked to my mom (note-she knows NOTHING about yahoo answers or this question, if she did there would be parental controls on the computer in a flash!). My mom says they are planning to live in her old apartment because he 1. She likes me and thinks its important for her son to have a nice friend like me 2. My dad treats him like a second son and Jamie never knew his real father and she likes that my dad has taken him under his wing, 3. She likes my family and LUCKY for me her fiance knows my dad. He's a public defender and my dad is a detective and my dad hangs around the court house a lot and they met while he was defending someone my dad arrested. I met her fiance a few times already at his mom's house and when he found out who my father was he said really nice things abouyt my father. I told my dad and he said he's a very good man. So I think its going to work out and Jamies stays

just remember if it is true love distance can't keep you apart and if it is ment to be you will be together after high school.

1. At 13, you do realize that you wont end up marrying this guy right?
2. Your parents could not adopt him without his mother giving up all her rights as a parent.
3. Even if your parents DID adopt him, he would legally be your brother.

I'm sorry, but I think it would be easier for you to try to talk his mom out of moving and taking him with her than continuing a relationship if your parents adopt him. If they have a problem with you two being together now, it will probably be much worse if they actually adopted him, which is highly unlikely.

If your parents did adopt this boy-you would have to look at him as a brother, because legally he is. If this boy 'likes' you, don't worry about losing him. You are MUCH too young to be worrying like this. BTW, your parents will never adopt this boy, so give it up!

ROFL. Wow...I don't think you should have your parents "adopt" him (And he'd be your legal brother...whether you like it or not) just because you don't want another girl to steal him away from you. I mean, why can't he just say, "No. I have a girlfriend?"
