My 9 yr old does not know how to be quiet nor still in school. The teacher and I have come up with incentives to get his behavior to change in school. But as soon as he gets the rewards, no future ones are coming because he has acted up again. I DO NOT WANT TO DRUG HIM!

I had an ultrasound at a little over 15 weeks and the tech said it was a boy. The parts were there very obvious on the pics. However I just went back and had another ultrasound at little over 18 weeks and the tech couldn't visualize anything to determine the baby's sex because the baby had it's legs all drawn up and the tech said she couldn't even guess. Do you think it's safe to say it's a boy since the 1st scan showed all the parts?

Hi all!! My 4 1/2 month old son is only being breastfed and till now was fine with the food he was getting every 3 hours! Now he is demanding it every 1 1/2 hr- 2 hrs. (at night as well!!") He is very big for his age and I want to start him on solids. Whats a good approach to doing this (I know your thinking - ask a pediatrician but I would like some other moms advice!!!) so I and baby can have a good day and a perfect nights sleep?!??! p.s. he does not take bottles..................

we always make a point to use protection, but one time we decided not to because we wanted to try it. so, i have no idea how to tell him. i've been waking up with a bad stomach ache and getting sick for three days (it's been a week since we didn't use any protection). what am i supposed to tell my boyfriend? we've been together for 2 months and as far as i know, he's never gotten a girl pregnant. plus, we're too young (i'm 18, he's 21) and i don't even know the first thing to say to him. i was gonna try the whole "baby, i'm pregnant" thing, but i decided against it. he says he loves me and when the time comes (this is SO not the time) to have a baby, he would never leave me. help, please!

Thing is... I may be pregnant now and with my first child, I had gestational diabetes from the second MONTH, and pre-eclampsia. Because of my condition, my doctor had to do an emergency c-section at 36 weeks. To say the least, the whole pregnancy and "birth" and recovery was torture. Wondering how likely I am to experience these same complications with the next pregnancy. I'm scared because I have no doctor or insurance.

Hi there,

I'm 31 and my hubby is 38. We are going to try and have our first child. I have a 28 day cycle and it's pretty regular. I just started my period on October 13 and I have been told to make sure we have sex on day 12 of my cycle and every other day afterwards. What else can I do to try and make sure this happens quickly? It's funny, we have waited for years for the "right time" and now that we've decided to have a baby I can't wait to get pregnant! I don't want to psyche myself up too much (I think that could screw things up). But I do want to have the best possible chance at conceiving quickly. I'd appreciate any advice. Especially from those who concieved their first child in their early 30's. A lot of my friends had kids years ago and I feel old because I'm just starting now. I hope 31 isn't too old to start having babies..

How much cereal is enough during the day for a a 4 1/2 month old? I give mine cereal 2-3 times a day and I also her some Gerber but it doesn't seem to fill her tummy. Isn't cereal suppose to make them less hungry? She eats every hour. Any advice?

Could I be the father? From the last time I slept with my ex until she gave birth was 42 weeks and 1 day, I slept with her on the Saturday she told me she had a period on the Monday that lasted a week (I don't know if this is true). And then apparently on the rebound of splitting with me she slept with a guy a week later, which is why, I am confused. She says the baby's his but I fear she is saying that to spite me for ending our three-year relationship. This has worried me for months if I am the father I want to be part of his life if any one can help it would mostly be appreciated

Our 9 year old son is in 4th grade and hates homework with a passion. The rules are that homework time starts right after a small snack. He will sit down and get his books out, but he can sit there just staring out of the window for an hour and then spend another hour sharpening a pencil and nothing gets done, unless I sit with him and keep him moving. But we have another son who would also like some attention and I do not have the time or the patience to sit there every afternoon.
Part of the problem is, that he does not get all his work done at school (for the same reasons) and has to finish that at home too.
He has not been tested for ADD and since we are not willing to put him on meds, we don't see the point in testing him. His attention span when playing video games, football or baseball is just fine and math usually gets done fast. But if he has to write or read it takes hours.
We have tried a time limit, no football, baseball if homework is not done, but nothing has worked.

I would like to start potty training my son. I need input on potty's .. good input and bad. There are so many out there. Different styles, from simple to noisy and animated. Personally... I dont think I would want one that giggles and shakes him right off, but I would like to know what works best for everyone else, and which ones to steer clear of. I would start him on the regular one but I know he is leery of the large big person hole as opposed to the smaller one on child potty's. So please any input is much appreciated : )
Thanks for reading :) Also any ideas for using the potty while away from the home ( without his own potty once he is confortable using it ) would be a great help as well.

My head is hurting because all of the baby boy names I like, someone in either me or my hubby's family has the name already! What do you guys think about naming your child after an uncle or cousin or something? My first son is already named after his father. I just need a little name boost! Thank you!
