How much cereal is enough during the day for a a 4 1/2 month old? I give mine cereal 2-3 times a day and I also her some Gerber but it doesn't seem to fill her tummy. Isn't cereal suppose to make them less hungry? She eats every hour. Any advice?

seems to me you should consult her baby doctor in regards to this because each child has different needs and maybe your child needs vitamins or something along this line good luck dear I wish you the best. Call her doctor in the morning and talk this over with her nurse or staff they generally are the ones who can help you in this area. You have to be careful with new Born's for the first year some children have stomach problems and this is very normal typical really yet we have to keep in mind over feeding can cause other problems later on in life which you don't want such as an obese child because this also causes medical problems so to much or too little can cause problems watch the in take and the out going plus exercises is always good Even for 4 month olds I use to do little legs things and my kids were both very active still I had to watch the the cookies and junk along the way .

That seems like a lot of eating, especially for a baby that little. My daughter was a big baby and a big eater but she did not eat every hour. Cereal does make them less hungry! But 2-3 times a day for a baby that little is too much - I think.
Breast milk or formula is all they really need to be sustained until they are about one year old. She does not Need cereal or any other solids - they are more for practice then actual nutrition.
I think you might want to talk to your doctor.

Talk to her pediatrician.

You didn't mention formula. You should still be giving your baby formula. This needs to be the main source of nutrition for a child under 12 months. If you are giving formula, you can increase the amount you give her. Go to 6 ounces if you haven't already.

Cereal is made from white rice, does that sound filling? Breastmilk should be her main source of nutrtion at this point in her life.

Add other foods....like bananas (low allergy percentage) or applesauce.
Also---feed her until she indicates she is done---don't measure the food, let baby measure fullness.
Help her to maintain her natural urges, (and respect them) and you will help her to be much less likely to have weight problems later!
